COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

On tap at The Grill Next Door. Ruby red pour. Dark fruit and scotch on the nose. Sweet, sweet taste, dark fruits very present. Subtle scotch & not boozy. Nice funky bitter on the finish! Super drinkable! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Scotch Ales can be somewhat imposing malt bombs. This approach from de Silly seems to be a bit more light-hearted. Brown color. It comes across with a feel thats more medium-bodied but still extremely smooth. Roasted grain and cocoa aromas. Fat malts and some fruitiness. Caramel, toast, chocolate, and succulent dark fruit flavors. Tasty.

November 21st, 2014 - With just a strip, or a mustache, of kilting pattern, Id hardly say this is silly. But the Scotch part is evident right from the pour, releasing the murky, muddy brew into the glass, and letting the head cling to the glass, even as it splashes around in the roiling aftermath of filling the glass. Given the style, and its tempestuous appearance, the aroma is lighter than expected, with a fresh Spring air smell, like a luxury version of Irish Spring soap, mixed with white wine and chardonnay. The flavor is brilliantly balanced, light, with a slight tang and a lot of stickiness. Red wine and white juice sugars blend together effortlessly, and brighten up with the addition of tartaric acid, resulting in a flavor similar to top quality maple syrup. Sticky but drinkable, this is a memorable Scotch Ale, and disappears quicker than expected.

Medium low frothy tan head with low retention. Hazy reddish brown. Aroma is spicy (clove, nutmeg), drupe fruits (peach) and molasses. Taste is sweet with low bitterness, intense, toasted sugar (caramel) and sweet malty.

Pours a caramel amber with a light khaki head. Toffee and caramel nose. Starts more light on the palate, but becomes more heavy. Caramel flavor becomes increasingly sweet, but never becoming overly so. Flavor becomes richer after a moment on the palate. Finishes as sweet as it becomes. The bitterness, again, subdued, increases along with the sweetness.

A soft off-white head with excellent lacing. The body is dense and opaque. Colour is a rich chocolate caramel. The nose features caramel and berries. This is a top notch euro scotch ale. The carmel body is smooth and rich. There are touches of banana from the yeast and blackberries. this is not my favourite approach to a scotch ale - I prefer roasted malt, more nuts and a touch more hops in the background. But this is extremely well crafted.

Robe brune, mousse peu persistante. Nez sur le noisette, le caramel, le caf au lait. Bouche lattaque onctueuse sur des notes torrfies, de llgance, de la fracheur et une finale sur les fruits secs. Une bire lgante sans aucune liourdeur.
