Fatehunter (2449) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JAN 12, 2014
Pours a thin head on a dark, dark brown colored body. The aroma is a rich malt, caramel and a little lemon zest. The taste is malty sweet forward, molasses in the middle and finishes with a mild bitter note. The texture is a little sticky with low to moderate carbonation. An enjoyable sipper.

355ml bottle. Darkest brwon colour with ruby glimmer and average, foamy, fairly lasting moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Slightly perfumed, floral and fruity hoppy aroma, hints of red berries and orange zest, underlying hints of banana, raisin, liquorice, a minimally smoky and ashy touch. Taste is bitter, fruity, minimally earthy, notes of liquorice, black currant, blueberry; minimally metallic finish.

The beer pours dark brown with a light brown head. The aroma have some maillard products. There are also aromas of roast, wheat, low levels of dark fruit, and a hint of smoke. The flavors are highlighted by roast and wheat with a low level of chocolate. There are also flavors of dark fruit. It has a moderate feel to it with the roast and chocolate more prominent in the aftertaste. It has a slight alcohol warming effect. Overall, this is a wheat and roast driven beer with some fruit and other flavors in the background.

BeerdedDave (1493) - Beckley, USA - JAN 4, 2016
dark brown with very little head; light malty aroma; weak roasted malt flavor; for a fairly high gravity beer it comes across as light and watered down

Refrigerated 12 oz. squat brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Dark brown withsmalloff-white head. Aroma is nuts, medium/light body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is nuts and dark malt. A thin dunkleweizen with brown ale characteristics, kind of bland.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with off white head. Cocoa, malty aromas. Malty, wet cardboard, slight cocoa, slight fruity flavors. Meh, not too excited that I picked this one up, but alright.

Superbeero (10) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - NOV 19, 2015
Chestnut brown color with chocolate hints; head of 2 fingers which diminishes quickly; no lace to speak of Almost nothing on the nose; maybe some faint malts and twig; slight cocoa. A weird collaboration of cocoa powder, liquid smoke, toasted barley malts, slight bubble gum, and a flavor of antiseptic alcohol. Meh. The feel is the best part. Creamy, medium bodied, highly carbonated, dry parched w/ cocoa finish. I really like Scuttlebutt as a PNW brewery. This was easily their weakest offering. I’d pass on it again if I were up in the area.

reebtogi (6022) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 11, 2015
650ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves only a few specks of lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruits with chocolate and with hints of citrus. Taste is a big dark fruit and malty sweetness with a light citrus and grass hop bitterness. Medium bodied with modest carbonation. Overall, a little hoppier than most dunkels, but still suits the style well and I recommend this to others.
