COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This "imperial IPA" has a very strong hop aroma and flavor, however it isnt as bitter as the Gale Force IPA. There is a strong malt backbone to offer a level of balance but with over two and a half pounds of hops per barrel it resonates hops from start to finish. With so much flavor happening you miss the 8.6% alcohol by volume so be careful when serving or drinking. Hops were added at every stage of the process...it was dry-hopped with chinooks for two weeks. 75 IBUs. Hops: chinook, centennial, columbus, cascade, bullion.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2016 Small bottle bought at Bottle Jockey. Pours a hazy amber. Aroma AND taste are messy, sweet fruits. Bitter aftertaste. It would have been nice, if it was not so dirty.

0,355l bottle at home. some number that says 815 which I would assume means bottling. smells of caramel, pines, bit sweetish, light grass and herbs, flowery, light nuts. good smell bit on the sweet side. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes sweet at first, then rather bitter, citric notes, herbs, light pines, candy notes, some stale hops. finishes rather light with notes with medium bitterness and citric notes, herbs and light pines. okish, taste not too great, maybe also an issue of freshness, bit watery / stale taste.

Bottle from deeside drinks emporium. Pours a clear yellow/orange with an off white head that fades slowly. Aromas of honeydew melon, citrus fruits and coriander leaf. Flavour is a nice hop bomb with similar flavours to the aroma. Pine linger.

355 ml bottle @ Timo A.
Pours clear golden color with a small head. Cardboard and vegetables on the aroma, herbal, jelly beans, sweet fruits and pine, hops and orange. Sweet flavor with orange and pineapple, some mild gooseberry notes, alcohol is quite well hidden, caramel malts and some resin. The aroma feels a bit off at first, gets better towards the end. Something is a bit off here though.

Aroma is passion fruit, grapefruit, citrus, lemon grass and pinecone. Taste is sweet malts which are full bodied and met with complex hops, malts, and fruit notes that match the aroma. Appearance is a hazy amber with a thin pearl head that retains quite well

ciocanelu (1731) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - FEB 5, 2016
Clear orange color with off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with earthy and sweet orange notes. There is also some sweet malt and stale grains note. Taste starts somehow sweet and fruity but gets quickly bitter and dusty. Bitterness is quite harsh with lots of grapefruit pith. Body is medium-light with medium carbonation. Overall its a very classic, old school type DIPA. It has the harsh bitterness and earthy hops you expect from a classic example of the style.

Light haze on this gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is smooth and has decent fine carbonation. Decent malt base, a light creamy sweetness. Hops start with a spicy resin followed by marmalade and grapefruit. Bitterish citric peel before a spicy finish and linger. Nicely done, very drinkable.

355ml bottle. Cloudy, pale amber colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney and slightly citrusy hoppy aroma, fruity notes of pineapple, hints of lemon zest. Taste is citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon zest, lemon drops, hints of lemon tea, minimally sugary, caramel malty basis. Fresh, citrusy, straightforward DIPA.
