COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This "imperial IPA" has a very strong hop aroma and flavor, however it isn’t as bitter as the Gale Force IPA. There is a strong malt backbone to offer a level of balance but with over two and a half pounds of hops per barrel it resonates hops from start to finish. With so much flavor happening you miss the 8.6% alcohol by volume so be careful when serving or drinking. Hops were added at every stage of the process...it was dry-hopped with chinooks for two weeks. 75 IBU’s. Hops: chinook, centennial, columbus, cascade, bullion.

The_Osprey (8682) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2016
Bottle shared at Leighton’s, as ’Scuttlebutt Hoptopia’. Hazy orange, opaque, lightly sparkling, decent foamy off-white head, full lacing. Aroma is dried flowers, mint, orange, a little soap. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is pine-forward, some toffee, floral and resinous with a dry finish. Not worthy of the import premium but it’s a decent enough DIPA overall.

GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - DEC 2, 2015
Mixed on this--MB loved it, I wasn’t so sure. Lots of grass and straw flavors to it--a bit much to me so that it becomes a little harsh. Slightly astringent finish.
