Draught at the brewpub, 6-4-7-4-13=34
Hazy amber color with small creamy head. There is an earthy touch both in the aroma and flavor; the flavor is basically caramel, with a good bitterness level and mild hop qualities (some resins). Good.

Nitro at the brewpub, 6-4-7-3-13=33
Hazy amber color with obvious creamy head; it seems darker than the CO2 version. Smoother mouthfeel; the earthy touch is now almost absent, just the good caramel is left; similar to the other version, but some of the pleasant edges of it don’t appear here, especially the final is blander.

Bright amber colour. Slightly fruity hop and toasty malt in the aroma. Light bitterness, light toastiness. Vague, but what comes through in good. It just needs to be more assertive.

yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 30, 2013
Bottle, 22oz. A lightly hazy beer, amber in color and topped by a small, dense, off-white to light beige head. Quite hoppy aroma, piney and citrusy, with caramel maltyness in the back. Some bitterness in the flavor, but not too much, balancing the caramel maltyness quite good. Full body with pleasant carbonation. Citrus peel and some tropical fruit notes in the else bitter and caramel malty finish. Sure a tasteful one, drinks easy, but it’s a bit too malty on a summer day this hot. 130630

Bomber from the brewpub. Pours clear copper with a minor whiteish head. Something of a citrus aroma. Med. body. Flavor is light roast malt with some piney/floral hop. Mild balance of malt and hop on into the night. Not exciting but it drinks well.

Nitro tap at the brewpub. Pours amber with a creamy near white head. Light hop aroma. Med body. Flavor is mildly pine over a mildly roasted malt. Think the nitro is adding/exposing a slight tanginess. At 42 IBU should it be hoppier? Is the nitro smoothing down the flavor? Still it drinks well and had a nice lingering bitterness. Washed food down well.

(nitro) Clear amber body with creamy off-white head. Aroma is slight; medium sweet, caramel, light grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some grapefruit mid-tongue that fades before the swallow. Creamy, light-medium body.

BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - AUG 11, 2013
12 oz. bottle at home. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy white head, short retention with spotty lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt, grapefruit and floral hops with light peach esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness tipping the balance over the toasted malts. Some light fruit notes with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

marcus (10864) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours orange copper with a thick beige head and a fruit and toffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied smoked malt flavor with a mildly bitter finish.

Ibrew2or3 (8912) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - SEP 26, 2013
12oz bottle pours with a clear amber body and copper edges supporting a dirty white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up malts, some roasted malts, muted pine hops and then a mild mix of earthy tea hops, slight citrus hard candy note and fruity esters. Smells alright. The taste is similar with pine and earthy tea like hops that are having a good time together and deliver a pleasing load of hop bitterness. Behind these hops are bits of citrus hops, roasted malts and a biscuit malt note. Pretty darn nice hop forward session brew.
