Pommeau is a still aperitif-style cider crafted by slowly fermenting hand-pressed Snow apples, whose Upper Canada origins date to the 1700’s. Potent yet refined, Pommeau provides a velvety mouthfeel and a rich smoky nose of cinnamon, apple and burnt sugar.

Hot to the palate and with a rich nose of dried fruit, Pommeau is a Canadian twist on the European tradition of blending fresh pressed apple juice with cider eau de vie. Raise a glass at Sea Cider where apples live the good life!

Light amber in colour with a spicy brandyish aroma. Rich, boozy, spicy, brown sugar.

Bottle - Boozy and liqueur like an apple whisky. Clear gold. Light sweet boozy notes, sweet Apple and whisky like nots in the finish. Some caramel to soften would have been nice, a little too boozy for me.

mcberko (17845) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2015
375mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber orange -- like syrup. Nose is treacly, with toffee, caramel, brown sugar and sugar apples. Flavour is quite intensely sweet, but not cloying, with notes of apple liqueur, caramel, treacle toffee, sugar and alcohol. Unlike some other reviewers, I find this rather decadent and measured. Very enjoyable. Lovely stuff.

brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 27, 2014
Bottle @ Sea Cider. Clear pale yellow pour. The aroma is hot has a lot of fusels. It’s nearly peppery. Notes of vanilla and caramel. Very light apple. The booze is intense on the tongue as well. Mild sweetness of caramel, vanilla, and cooked fruit. Some peppery spice, herbs, and grain. Better with a splash (or two) of water.

RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 7, 2013
Boozy aroma with tart apples. The flavour is the same. Would work as a nice aperitif if you wanted something with less alcohol than most. It’s like a watered down Calvados.

Handbottle 10 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear pale yellow. Interesting aroma, not particularly clean apple, more paint thinner! Light body, lightly sweet apple - although subdued - with a very boozy finish. 200412

Ungstrup (37625) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 23, 2012
Bottled. A golden cider. The aroma has notes of alcohol and apples. The flavor is sweet with notes of apples, alcohol, and spices - especially vanilla. The alcohol warms in the throat. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

joergen (28148) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 21, 2012
Bottle at Alex. Clear golden coloured with no hrad. Sweet and fruity aroma of apples and dried apples. Sweet and fruity flavour of apples and dried apples with notes of alcohol. Warming alcoholic finish.

Corked bottle from Spinnakers Spirit Merchants, Victoria; 19% ABV
Yellow color, with beautiful legs. Light aroma of Calvados with a touch of anise. Full sweetness, the mouthfeel gains some balance by the strong alcohol presence, although this also gives a boozy note; some flavor of apple juice (no fruity freshness though), candies, cassonade, a hint of anise.
This is more similar to sweet Calvados than cider, but it’s a pleasant liquor.
