12 oz. bottle of Kennebunkport Brewing Co. Blueberry Wheat Ale, from Trader Joes.

Aroma: 3/10: Smells like straight-up Blueberry Pie Filling. And not the good kind, with the real blueberries mixed in to the gelatinous goo, but just the plain gelatinous goo.

Appearance: 2/5: With this being labeled as a wheat ale, I expected some of the typical cloudiness associated with wheat ales. I saw none of it.

Taste: 6/10: It actually tastes pretty darn good. Not great, but better than expected. Better than some of the similar-type beers.

Palate: For what it is, pretty refreshing. Medium-high carbo, relatively light, with a slight oilyness.

Overall: I expected to really hate this beer - on the order of total score <1. But, surprisingly, its not bad. Better than "Wild Blue" that you see all over, by AB. I anticipate that this beer would be great after a long yard mowing session... a unique summer beer - something different than all of the citrusy summer beer clones that have exploded on the market. The aroma is cheap-smelling, and the appearance isnt great; taste is just so-so... but, put them all together and the total is more than a sum of its parts. However - buyer beware - you must LOVE blueberry to love this beer. 8/20

Draft. Pale clear yellow body, small white head. The aroma is very artificial and sweet, but it has a hint of tartness. The taste is like bubblegum. Overall not bad, but way too artificial.

On tap at Yard House. This is a very tasty beer, the blueberry is present but subtle, I could drink a whole lot of these very refreshing babies.

Assuming this is no longer a wheat beer, it pours a clear yellow/copper. Aroma is all blueberry. Flavor is a bit soda-like and blueberry flavored. This is drinkable but not great.

On tap at World of Beer (Charlottesville, VA). Heavy blueberry aromas, funky bread. Clear burnished gold with a mostly fading white head. Actually pretty dry, some funky yeasty notes, blueberry. Light-medium bodied.

appearance: very light yellow, slightly hazy, creamy white head, active carb (which may be from the bed of blueberries it was served on--according to the server this is standard). aroma: sweet blueberry nose, hint of lemon. taste: sweet blueberries, pie crust, lemongrass. finish: very slight sour wheat note to balance a bit of grass and lasting blueberry sweetness. notes: Look, its exactly what it says it is. Blueberry notes are of course prominent, and I guess Im a bit of a mark for the creative way its served, even if the blueberries in the glass serve to jump up the character of the beer a bit. Palate is nice and refreshing. Draught at World of Beer in Rockville.

Rating #1838 - 2015.07.20 - Beer Rev Fruit Fest - Draught - Clear, pale yellow pour. Aroma is mild blueberries and barley/grains. Taste is blueberry jam, extremely sweet. Finish is that of a standard pale lager, nothing extravagant, but smooth enough to keep you drinking. Not the best fruit beer, but drinkable if thirst is an issue.

Bottle, pours light amber with small white head. Smelled blueberry as soon as I popped the top. Lots of sweet blueberry taste combined with your basic wheat beer. Actually wasn't to bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
