12 oz. bottle of Kennebunkport Brewing Co. Blueberry Wheat Ale, from Trader Joe’s.

Aroma: 3/10: Smells like straight-up Blueberry Pie Filling. And not the good kind, with the real blueberries mixed in to the gelatinous goo, but just the plain gelatinous goo.

Appearance: 2/5: With this being labeled as a wheat ale, I expected some of the typical cloudiness associated with wheat ales. I saw none of it.

Taste: 6/10: It actually tastes pretty darn good. Not great, but better than expected. Better than some of the similar-type beers.

Palate: For what it is, pretty refreshing. Medium-high carbo, relatively light, with a slight oilyness.

Overall: I expected to really hate this beer - on the order of total score <1. But, surprisingly, it’s not bad. Better than "Wild Blue" that you see all over, by AB. I anticipate that this beer would be great after a long yard mowing session... a unique summer beer - something different than all of the citrusy summer beer clones that have exploded on the market. The aroma is cheap-smelling, and the appearance isn’t great; taste is just so-so... but, put them all together and the total is more than a sum of its parts. However - buyer beware - you must LOVE blueberry to love this beer. 8/20

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2017 Pours a light copper from a tap. Blueberry wafted toward me as soon as it was set down in front of me. There's also a bunch of blueberries the bartender threw in there. Blueberry and wheat flavor is somewhat like a scone or pie, not bad. Thin and lightly sour finish takes me out of it a bit though. Okay beer.

From Jul 2007 Purchased at Wilbur's Liquors in Ft Collins as part of a mixed 6 Pack. Pours from 12oz bottle(best by 09 07) a clear gold with a good head of foam that shrinks but remains for the entire session hugging the edge of the glass and the lacing is quite good. The smell, which hit me immediately upon opening, is blueberry to the max and I *love* blueberries. If the taste is anything like the nose, I'm in for a treat. The taste on first sip has a nice semi sweet blueberry flavour that nicely compliments the flavour of wheat. I'm also getting some earthy notes and the finish ends up a bit on the watery side. Not bad but I was hoping for a more pronounced blueberry flavour. I wish there was such a thing as a Blueberry Lambic but I'd buy this again.

Taste: refreshing wild blueberry, slight sweet, wheat, smooth finish. Same with the nose. Gold, clear, with a smaller head and lace in taster glass. Medium body. Not that artificial Blueberry extract some use.

Slightly hazy light amber color with a soapy white head of foam. Intense sweet blueberries on the aroma. Very quenching on the palate with some mild sweetness from the base malt. A more diffused blueberry arrives at the center and finishes with a faint sourness.

Friends love this beer. Top notch for a flavored beer. I find it a tiny bit sweet.

Sample 1/4 at Yard House, Las Vegas. Pours clear golden, virtually no head. The aroma contains citrus, malt, blueberry, flowers, light herbs and a bit of bubblegum. It tastes medium berry-like sweet and light sour with a light tart finish. Light body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Some doubts about the aroma, bordering on artificial.

beautiful, smells great, tastes amazing..but if you don’t like blueberries then obviously don’t drink this one. Have it on draft in a glass that emphasizes the smells. Hard to describe, but i love it. has almost a buttery smooth finish that makes me think of a fresh blueberry muffin.....just like grandma used to make. try it. you’ll like it,

On draft at Westover Market. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Aroma of blueberry. Flavors of berries and cream. Somewhat sweet but decent.
