Fashioned after the famous ales from Burton-On-Trent which took on such bold character after surviving the long, rolling voyage from London to Calcutta in the days of the Empire. This is an amber colored masterpiece in the world of beer styles.

Malt: 2-Row British Pale Ale, Crystal & Chocolate
Hops: Willamette, Cascade
Yeast: Top fermenting English.

From Total Wine in Stuart. No bottle date. Amber pour with an off orange head Fruity sweet aroma with some sugar and some toffee. Sweet fruits in the taste, toffee, with more simple sugar, some earth and a bit of citrus. Rough. Finishes sweet and slightly bitter. Thinking this was old, but also sure I’ve had before, and it was not that great then. 12.4

Pours clear amber with medium white head. Nose is slightly hoppy. Aromas are toasted malts, herbs and some floral hops. Light body, medium carbonation. Light bitter finish. Rather basic IPA, quite refreshing but nothing exceptional here. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

As KBC IPA in Seattle. Pale clear brown, small head. Brown malty aroma, some floral hops. Medium, dry body. Malt centered, quite watery. Dry bittering finish.

Directed here for KBC IPA (Kennebunkport Brewing IPA). Clear amber pour. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is flowery hops and caramel candies. The flavor is toffee, toast, bitter hoppage, with a rough, grainy finish. Pretty harsh.

Bottle from wegmans. Pours clear amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has a bit of floral hops but is mostly toffee and bready malt. The taste is awful.

355ml bottle. Jsut a rubbish ipa. Scent is stale hop icing. Flavor is hop vinegar. Butchered the style.

From Trader Joe’s labeled as Kennebunkport/KBC IPA. It pours a nice amber colour with weak white foam. Malty and hoppy, a fairly true-to-style and balanced English-style IPA but nothing to write home about. Light-medium body, somewhat bready mouthfeel, lingering fruity and earthy aftertaste. Decent.

hadn’t seen the ipa before. kinda excited. kinda. not expecting greatness...but a single is less than a soda! a decent amount of floral hops (this is an east coast ipa after all) atop a thinnish malty background. pleasant, if not spectacular. pretty much what you’d expect and nothing less."

suprchunk (2994) - Crestview, Florida, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Deep amber pour. Small off white head. Plenty of lacing. Piney hop aroma. Some caramel notes and a slightly off putting sweet aroma. Taste is slight corn and very bitter. Chalky.

In a world where there are stellar examples of IPA too numerous to count, a beer like this has no reason to exist. It is an off and metallic rendition of the style and lacking the vibrant hop character that is the hallmark of the style. It is clear red in color and its head is of mixed bubbles and long lasting. This has a mildly floral hop character and a good bit of metallic, basic bitterness. This is rather light bodied but still a bit sweet, which cloys just a touch. This is on the low end of drinkable, I suppose, but I do not think that is adequate at all.
