Fashioned after the famous ales from Burton-On-Trent which took on such bold character after surviving the long, rolling voyage from London to Calcutta in the days of the Empire. This is an amber colored masterpiece in the world of beer styles.

Malt: 2-Row British Pale Ale, Crystal & Chocolate
Hops: Willamette, Cascade
Yeast: Top fermenting English.

12oz kennebunkport IPA. aroma is clean seaweed, sugary, malt extract. appearance belies below average nose with ruby red, tawny pour accompanied by consistent film head and hefty ring, ample carb. flavor is more sweetness, malt extract syrupy flows and seems evident. perhaps fleeting bitterness late or is that just heavy carb? an IPA, this is not.

On tap at the brewery. Pour a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Soft lemon with a touch of citrus on the nose. Medium bodied, grain and a bit of early bitterness. Soft and easy, not much going on. Long bitterness into the finish.

Brown amber in colour. In the nose, tiny notes of European hops, notes of resin, underbrush, important presence of caramel, roasting. In mouth is medium - light bodied, with hints of toasted bread, after that a scratchy presence of continental hops and some notes sulphurous. Not very balanced and not super clean
