chinchill (4995) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 8, 2016
On tap at the brewery taproom.
Clear golden body topped by a good, durable white head.
The aroma is very appealing but exceptionally bready and malty for style. The taste then surprises with a moderately hoppy and moderately bitter flavor. Medium, light carbonation.lightly bitter for style and, especially, for the strength of hop flavor. BrewGoblin (632) - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, CANADA - NOV 2, 2014
First off, this is the cleanest, clearest looking beer I have ever laid peepers upon and for that I give it top "Appearance" points. It’s pale yellow with a foamy white head that leaves some serious lacing. Smell-wise I am getting a lot of clover honey, cereal, mild herbal and floral hops and some mild grassiness. Taste is pretty much the same with a strong bittersweet finish leaning more towards the bitter side. Mouthfeel is okay but could be more, it’s a bit watery and softer than I was hoping for. Nearly clear golden pour with a fairly thin head that leaves the thinnest ring of lace after 42 seconds. Smells distinctly like buttered popcorn. In fact, I’m willing to bet this is the most highly diacetyl fuelled beer I’ve ever smelled. It’s really hard to get anything else on the nose at all. Tastes nearly as bad with some apple juice and thin grain. Reasonable palate.
Note: This was only canned 17 days ago and cost almost twice as much as any of the brewery’s other beers. I won’t be quick to go back for more. Phatman (176) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 16, 2012
From bottle, damn thats a big bottle, like half a growler big! Pours a light golden yellow colour, with a neat head. Cant say the colour is too inviting but, hey, it’s billed as a golden ale so I guess I cant complain too much. Aroma is floral, oranges, sweet. Light body, very sessionable. Sublte malt sweetness, caramel leading to butterscotch maybe. Touch of bitterness left behind on the tongue. Easy going and not too challenging.

500ml bottle. Nice hazy, brassy colour with moderate white head. Some lacing. Taste and smell are well balanced malt, English style hops and some grain. Body was a little watery or oily, kind of heavy without being thick. Overall, I was suprised to get such a full flavour out of a 4.5% brew. Bottle. Clear light golden, compact white head. Perfumey fruity hop aroma, gentle and fresh. Light fruity palate, clean grainy base, low bitterness. Simple but satisfying, nice for the patio. Grwido (57) - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2011
Golden beer with a white head. Grassy malty aroma. Taste is sweet, with butterscotch and caramel. Pretty good beer. Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 6, 2010
Bottle: Poured a light color amber with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of weird grainy taste with some gross sweetness. Taste is also off with gross butterscotch notes and some dry hops which don’t mix really well. Body is about average with oily texture and medium carbonation. The butterscotch notes are really gross and I had to drain pour this one. Lubiere (13911) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 18, 2009
A golden ale with a thin white head. A nice caramelly malt with light butterscotch notes. In mouth, a nice biscuitty malt with some good grainy qualities, light British hops, a bit of an oily mouthfeel. Lighter bodied. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 10 2009.
