Courtesy aspidites. Black, dark brown edges. 1.5cm of dense, light brown foam. Very nice nose- roasty malt, creamy dark chocolate, coffee, and a light dose of bitter hops. Thanks Alan. The beer pours to a black body with a thin tan head. The aroma is really nice. Chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal, sweetened condensed milk, black patent. 20060922 Bottle shared by Frumptylicious at Dickinsonbeer’s O-Fest. Here’s another brewery I’d never even heard of before having a chance to sample their beer. (Sampler at the brewpub) Pours solid black with no real head. The aroma is of dark black malt and perhaps licorice. It’s thick and pretty smooth. The bitterness in the flavor approaches mocha. Great stuff. scanman (150) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - DEC 7, 2006
Pours a dark black/brown with brown/tan head. Initial flavors of brandy, malts, chocolate, coffee and coal. Not bad, but very intense for an oatmeal stout. Not very creamy or fruity like other "sweet" stouts. Recommended with reservations.

Thanks to Ryan for bringing this to my oktoberfest party. Similar to the devout stout, but has a bit more body, sweeter, and fuller mouthfeel. Very smooth and silky, also very sweet. Good burnt/coffee flavors and aroma. Decent.
