FRom the 355 ml. bottle with no noticeable markings or dates. It purs ruby red to brwon with fairly good clarity. There is a very large foamy tan head but that may be because it was in my car for a little while before I opened it. The aroma is malty and nutty. The mouthfeel is fair to midland. It has this weird mixture of caramely, raisins, and licorice in the taste but it is not unappealing. It was an enjoyable brew. rcasta (874) - EL SALVADOR - OCT 7, 2008
En pwm, me esta es la forma de probarlas. Sampler. Bastante hoppy pero es mas mi tipo. Talvez la mejor hasta ahorita asheft (3108) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 26, 2008
Creamy and powdery aroma with some sherry and walnut, but sort of weak. Almost clear chestnut with a lacy, thin cover. Chocolatey and toasty flavour combines well with pine hops and perfect bittering. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, peppery finish from the contrapuntal bitterness and carbonation. (Bottle). Somewhat sour malty aroma. Dark brown with huge tan head. Flavor is pleasant but simplistic, overly carbonated. OK, not great. thornecb (6058) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 8, 2008
Pours deep brown into a shaker. Nice tan head with good retention slowly recedes to coat surface. Sour flat caramel from front to back.

Draught @ the Brewpub in town. A basic brown offering with little originality. Fairly average. kassner (1691) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2010 Draft at the brew Pub in portland. very nice dark ruby color and a lot of taste, with coffee, smoke and still some buttery notes. the taste was almost like that of a Stout. kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 30, 2007
12 oz bottle. Opens with an unexpectedly loud pop, kinda like a gunshot. Pour yields 1/5 beer and 4/5 foamy light brown head. Left lots of lacing as it receded. Several pours and about 20 minutes later I had me 12 of beer in one glass. Very husky and nutty malt nose with some hints of coffee and nutella. A touch of english hops. No infection , so that’s good, though it is a little thin and husky on first taste. Light nuttiness and cocoa notes. Minimal bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with a little huskiness and too much fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was an OK English-style Brown Ale, but there was some kind of issue with the bottling that really f’ed up the carbonation. OKBeer (1175) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - SEP 7, 2007
Sample from bottle at the Halifax Seaport Beerfest. Brown amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. Chocolate, coffee, and caramel aroma. Light butterscotch background with some toffee malts and a surprisingly assertive earthy and fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth. A pleasant surprise. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 15, 2007
(draft, S.Portland) Tan head with nice lacing, atop clear mahogany body. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, some nut. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some pine/earthy. Light-medium body.
