Bottle shared at volgons. Brown in color, and very heavily carbonated, almost a gusher. Aroma is grainy and stale malts. Taste is stale malts, astringent, with sharp and prickly carbonation.

Cold 12oz bottle: Dark cola color with garnet highlights and a large foamy tan head. Roasted malts, subtle grassy hops and caramel notes. Playful carbonation and light bodied. Malty ending with subtle hops and caramel notes.

Bottle: Clear brown, sharp grain aroma, starts and ends slightly sweet some cardbaord, Id be willing to say that this beer is too old, but since they didnt bother to put a date on the bottle, Im not bothering not to rate it.

This brew poured a shiny brown that looks closer to dark orange than brown. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, some earthy hop tones that really bring this brew some nice character. The taste is bitter upfront, a small coffee feel that is balanced with a sweet caramel bite that is smooth and brings forth a nutty, chewy feel in the mouth. This is a nice brew delicious and what I would call a "comfort beer" especially for those slightly chilly fall afternoons.

Pours a brown with no real head at all. Nutty, a little metallic tasting, slightly acidic. This is pretty boring, but its not bad. Wont be making any top 50s anytime soon though :-P

Not a bad beer. Looks good, dark in color with a rather small. Smells faint, but good. Tasted more like a strong ale than a brown ale, judging by most of the brown ales Ive had. Not bad, on tap at the Duggout, Farmington ME.
