A rich version of a Pale Ale, well balanced with lots of body, this British style ale has a deep malt nose and is nicely balanced with well placed, highly prized, East Kent Goldings hops.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2007 Have to re-rate after being in England. This brew exihibits too much malt and could use a more generous hoping. I think that it errors in going to too much malt charachter. The balance is more in favor of malt than hops. Rerate after being in England: What a typically American thoughts about this beer. So I had some from a grolwer last night and today, and it is pretty good bitter. Nice maltiness with some fruit notes that fades into a gentle bitterness. Aroma is beautifully malty. pours a brownish amber color with small head. flavor is malty with fruit and some woodiness. medium palate. good bitter

From growler, one hour old. Pours a clear dark copper colored body under an off-white tight bubbled head with decent retention. Aroma is of crackery biscuity malt under a nice floral hoppiness, EKG for sure. A little light fruitiness as well. Flavor is moderately bitter up front that gets slightly more bitter towards the finish. Malt is fairly soft with fruity undertones. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with nice soft carbonation, not exciting, but hey, that’s the style. Overall, a nice session Bitter. I especially liked the fact that the hops tasted pretty green and fresh.

From teh beer engine. Pours a sot amber color with a two finger head. The taste is very well balance with a nice malt backround and a decent amount of hops to it. This is a very good very drinkable beer.
