This one poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma was of grassy hops and pale malt. Flavor was similar, mild noble and some toast. dpjuart (1112) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2014
Draft sample at Brewpub. Pours golden/orange, clear with white head, good lacing. Bready nose, slightly sweet smelling. Sweet corn and grainy, apple, mild bitter with some piney, grassy notes lingering well into the after. Nice little bitter. neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 5, 2014
On tap at the brewpub, served in a tasting glass. Pours hazy amber with a small white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves no lace. The nose has rich caramel malts, biscuit, grass and a touch of apricot. The flavour is moderately sweet with lots of caramel, toffee and a touch of fruit; this is paired with soft grassy hops up front and a subtle piney bitterness that grows towards the finish. It closes out with toasted malts and a moderate slightly spicy bitterness. On the palate it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall a very nice malty ESB with just the right amount of hops. 2014-04-27 Art (3219) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 13, 2013
Probably would be enjoyable if the growler didn't go flat. I can tell the flavor has a slight bitter crisp to it. Average.

Hazy dark amber. This batch was not quite as special as last Fall’s but still tasty and malty. I would have preferred a few more hops.

Hazy dark orange, medium sized white head, spotty lacing. Nose is bready with some caramel, with floral and lightly citric hops. Flavor is similar with a pleasant, clean malt bill and some light hop bitterness. Medium to light bodied, even carbonation throughout, light bitterness and crispness in the finish. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 23, 2012
Draft at the brewery. Dark gold, cloudy, with a small bubbly head. Nose and flavor bring nice sweet malt to the fore, including touches of molasses, ginger, spice, light floral hop, and a touch of butterscotch; maybe some Ringwood used here? Not quite my bag, but still nice. orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Served on-tap at the brewpub.
A - Pours amber yellow with a nice one finger tall white head leaving small rings of lace down most of the glass.
S - Smells of caramel malt, earthy hops, pine and fresh toasted bread. A little dull but still pretty nice.
T - Starts off with some light chewy caramel sweetness quickly giving way to some light earthy hop bitterness, light spice and some very faint fruitiness. Finish is a little bitter with some very light lingering sweetness.
M - Light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, easy drinking feel that makes this one easy going down.
O - I enjoyed this one for what it is. The cask version was a little better than this one, the natural carbonation really helped it out, but I had no problem finishing my glass in short order. j12601 (12973) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 22, 2012
On tap and cask at Selin’s Grove, and tried each version. Pours a hazed amber with a thin white head. Soft caramel, toast, malt, light and dry, dusty hops. Sweet grain, toast and malt. Gently bitterness. The cask is nice and smooth, better mouthfeel than the tap version. Gentle lemon and bitterness into the finish. GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 19, 2012
Tap at the brewpub. Chill hazed orange. Good head retention. Great lacing. Nose is maple and sugar. Small Small pumpkin and vanilla comes through in the taste with clovey bitterness. Clean and rich palate. Very good. No nutty or astringent bitterness. Silky vanilla flavor throughout. Excellent.
