A very pale lager made in the with a generous amounts of German whole Tradition hops, and a special strain of lager yeast. Fermented at chilly temps this little creation is clean & crisp with a spicy hop finish.
FKA "Lil Budgie Pilsener", the recipe has evolved in to a more bitter, but essentially similar beer over the years.

Beautiful, fantastic floral aroma on the nose. Pours dark golden with a big fluffy head that leaves a lot of lacing. I dont find the taste particularly bitter. It tastes crisp and clean but then shockingly, surprisingly theres this big hop finish which mirrors the aroma. This is the first pilsner that I wanted to drink like a triple. Simply a stunning beer.

In short: An fantastic crisp pilsner. The best in North-America? Maybe
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body topped by a long-lasting small white head
In long: Nose is not intense but it is bright and vibrant with grassy hops and fresh cereals. Taste is mega-crisp. A crisp malt backbone that tastes halfway between wheat and biscuits. A tiny touch of honey. Some lemongrass. A lot of dry grass. The finish is sharp, bitter and dry. Might be the best pils Ive ever had in North-America. I dont think a very fresh Prima Pils can top that. This is the definition of a desert island beer. My beer of the day at Selins Grove, and yes they had their excellent Phoenix Kriek on tap. That beer blew my mind like psychic whore.

On draught at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a hazy slightly darkened gold with a moderate, somewhat creamy, white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and laced the glass extremely well. There is not much aroma to speak of; some very mild malt and thats about it. The flavor is malt that has just a bit of biscuit, along with some very mild fruit. Smooth on the palate and well rounded yet at the same time crisp in the finish. This is really a lovely and well-crafted pils. I could drink this all day.

Pours a mostly clear golden color with a very small lacing white head. Aroma is big on hops, typically grassy notes, and also some citrus notes and some light malts. Taste is complex, hoppier than I remember other Pilsners being, but that is not a bad thing, taste is grassy, spicy hops and some light citrus notes, and a touch of some grainy malts in there too. Very solid Pils with a nice biting hop flavor that stays with you.

Tap @ brewpub. Comes to the table a beautiful, glowing, hazy, straw/golden color. The medium strong head fades slowly and leaves a lightly sticky lacing. Aroma starts with strong white bread/white biscuit maltiness. There is even a light fruit highlight, not strong and descriptive, not sure if it is hops or yeast but it is there. A bit of an herbal hop kick in there as well. Taste is similar with a nice medium mouthfeel. There is less hoppiness initially in the flavor but it kicks in in the end of the flavor. There is a bit of lemon at the end of the flavor as well. It is very delicious and fun to drink.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a medium white head. Aroma of zesty lemon, yeast and barley. Tastes much the same as the aroma with a spicy yeasty aftertaste.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a cloudy yellow-golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was lightly grainy and tangy. The flavor was crisp, sour, tangy and had light floral hops. The finish was long and bitter with floral hops. Mediocre.

Sample set Golden appearance with a bright white head and minimal lacing. Hoppy but dull aroma. Hoppy prominancy with a warm bitter body. Clingy palate with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall pilsner.
