Pours nearly black with a dense 1 inch thick head. Didn’t get a ton of aroma of this one just faint malted notes. The taste had a fainted roasted quality. The mouth feel was fantastic. Pours a deep brown with a nice, tall light tan head and a bit of lacing on the way down. Nose brings forward roast, chocolate, coffee, and a bit of brown sugar. The taste is nice as well with some chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, and sugar. Nice full feel from the nitro. Great creaminess. Drinks quite well and is really tasty. Glad this is pretty much always on.

Pours out black with a nice creamy off white head. Aroma is of light roast, chocolate and light sweetness. Taste is complex with a silky smooth mouthfeel, creamy chocolate motes, licorice, roast and light coffee, and a touch of sweetness in the background. Solid

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2012 Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma was toasty malts, vanilla and merlot. The flavor was butter, dry and bitter with a tangy merlot presence and hints of coffee and chocolate. The finish was long with merlot and coffee. Full bodied and smooth. Odd but interesting. On tap at the brewpub 6/8/08: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a frothy dark tan head. Lightly sweet roasty dark caramel nose has notes of coffee and licorice. Body starts fairly full and milky sweet with some earthy licorice and dark chocolate bittering notes before a drier roasty finish. A pretty nice oatmeal stout. Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub Another master craftmanship by this brewpub. Only mild roast, and only 4.8% a.b.v. Very opaque brown with a light brown head. Taste a bit as if on nitro-tap. Draft at Selins Grove Brewpub. Pours a dark brune body with a tan head. Ashy light Irish cream like flavor, oatmeal, and a lightly roast y bitter finish. Some lighter chocolate and roasted notes round this one out. A great session stout.
