nice little porter that had a heavier than usuall roast (and a touch less caramel) for the style - ended up being better and more robust than the oatmeal stout. dwyerpg (6055) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Not much in the aroma. Looks nice. This is pretty good. A pretty noticeable chocolate flavor, it not over-roasted or nutty. Good. brokensail (16432) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 12, 2012
A black pour with a small khaki head. Somewhat roasty, but also fairly acidic. Some dark fruits, a little dark chocolate, and some coffee, too. The flavor is a bit acidic, too. Roasted malt, dark fruits, and someplace a sweetness. A touch of coffee and a mild bitterness to the beer. marcus (10142) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 19, 2012

Draft at brewery. Pours very dark brown, almost black with a thin sandy white head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is milk chocolate, some sweet and roasted malt with a dry malty aftertaste. A little dark fruit in the finish. Great mouthfeel, a very nice porter. bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - AUG 16, 2008

~Smokey roasted malt scent.
~Taste is smokey and chocatey bitter. Some sweetness, but not much.

~ This is a decent porter. It didn’t really have anything that stood out to me. bhensonb (15085) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 18, 2008
Draft at WCBF 2008. Black/brown color with a huge tan head. Semifloral aroma. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Chocolate notes over near toasted malt. Finish is fairly dry. Wegro (332) - Fresno, California, USA - FEB 3, 2008
UPDATED: APR 27, 2009 On tap at the brewery. roasted malt. pretty dark for a porter, enough chocolate to make it seem like a porter and not a stout. a little watery but not bad. straight forward textbook porter with a little bit of tasty hops. probably the best of their regular beers on tap.
