Tap at the brewpub, NH. Pours fairly thick, brown-black with a small, creamy beige cap. Sugary. Hocolate in the aroma, some earthy cocoa. Medium to big sweet flavor with strong bittersweet cocoa, some chocolate cake, burnt wood, cedar wood. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with rich and lightly astringent burnt wood bitterness, further bittersweet chocolate, earth. Lingering torched wood. Not bad. Reasonably well balanced with some interesting aspects.
