UPDATED: SEP 28, 2016 On tap at the source. Dark brown with red highlights and a frothy tan head that persists. Initially a touch of diacetyl, but that faded quickly. Roasty caramel and earth kind of light in body. Nice beer but seems a bit thin for an oatmeal stout. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - MAR 18, 2015
On tap at the brewpub. Pours as it should except that it is distinctly lacking any head. Some espresso, pitted fruit, coffee lingers. Light body. AdamChandler (5208) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Pitch black. Espresso head. Nose smells quite nice. Creamy jam and biscuits with coffee. Light almost no bitterness. Big coffee finish. Body is pretty weak. But would go well with a Reuben blipp (9929) - La Mesa, California, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Draft at the brewpub. Pours near black with a beige head. Pretty standard example of the style. Lightly roasted malts, medium chocolate-like sweetness, and relatively low bitterness. Pretty good. AirForceHops (8037) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Draft at the pub. Color is a dark brown. Nose and taste run together. Roasted malt light chocolate with a light molasses in the finish. By far the best beer on tap today. Nothing amazing but no problems and drinkable for sure.

Tal at the brewpub, NH. Pours brown with a creamy, beige cap. Ashy roasted malt nose. Tangy dark malt flavor, light sweetness, hints of toasted sugars and ash. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Further tabgy dark malts in the finish, light notes of coffee, cocoa, earth and ash. So so.
