With the exhaustion of the mining industry Cornwall’s fishing fleet now keeps this bold tradition of commercial seafaring alive albeit bound by fishing quota red tape. Cornish Coaster pays tribute to all those down the centuries who have bravely plied their trade around Cornwall’s rugged coastline.

larsga (7625) - Oslo, - DEC 19, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 Coarse white head. Light amber body. Light sweetish malty hoppy floral aroma. Light, soft hoppy taste with straw and malt notes. A bit watery. No real aftertaste. Some cardboard, some driness, and sweetness. Some honey, too. Not bad, but not very exciting. (0.5pt cask at Fox & Anchor. Rerated by mistake at The Warwick Castle, London. Same result.)

An unusual fresh and fine bitter. Very session able.
Clear nutty color. Thin white layer on top. Mild intensity in the aroma. Medium light body and a mellow carbonation level. Decent bitterness. Caramel malt, fruity and herbal flavor.

Cask at the Field House, Solihull. Poured a clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery, cardboard malt, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Draught (Lord Aberconway, London)
Sweet malty aroma, fruity. Some cornish water in the taste. Sweet malts, gentle twiggy bitterness. Finish has English hops, a little bit earthy and very twiggy. Decent enough brew.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - slight resin but mostly pale malt. Taste - light grassy, lemon pale malt. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - my score is probably slightly forgiving as it’s the first beer of the day.

Cask @ The Albert, Hebden Bridge. Clear golden with a small creamy head. Session bitter with a low to medium bitterness. Not that malty with a palatable enough texture.

Deep delicious malty aroma. Quite deep tasting and without any syrupy feeling or any funny aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

R2k2 (450) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 8, 2015
A dark, whiskey-honey colored beer with a firm, slightly brown layer of foam. It has a somewhat sweet aroma, but very much on the background. It taste a bit apple-sour, but furthermore a bit watery. A somewhat slightly bitter aftertaste, but doesn’t last long.
