50 cL clear bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild grainy and slight dusty/tobacco hops like. Mild malty sweet, light citrusy and bitter flavoured. Dry and malty flavoured finish.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Finally got my hands on this, so I stop buying this as cask version, from not remembering which I have had... Amber olour with mediumsized foamy slightly off-white head, that leaves some lae. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild toasted notes, mild nuttyness as well as some wooden and fruity notes. Flavour is quite similar, but the wooden notes are more evident.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 7, 2007
(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, dark, amber golden with an off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of nuts and malts. Medium body with a fairly solid malt base and notes of caramel and nuts. Rather solid bitterness. Unfortunately the beer comes with a distinct fustiness, perhaps due to the clear glass bottle. 020707

Bottle at Noels House whilst watching the cheating fucking Kiwis scrape a 20-15 win over England B, 07/06/14. Clear golden amber with a well appointed eggshell white/off white head - a good looker. Nose is mellow fruit, toffee, nutty pangs, vanilla. Taste comprises much the same, biscuit, caramel, dark fruit rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter linger. A decent well constructed bottled bitter - trumps a lot of the cask micro twig that you come across in many bars!

harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2007
500ml bottle from Franglais, Calais. This used to be one of my favourite session bitters. How does it cope with being filtered and pasteurised? Amber colour with lasting thin off whtie head. Candy sugar, tea and earthy hop aroma, but there’s not that mouthfeel of a cask conditioned beer. Still, I like the hop profile on this beer. Some brown sugar in the mouth. Sharpish herby hop on finish. But it’s pasteurised and it ruins it. Some choc malt.
