Many pints in many pubs. This would be a good standard to use for what an "average" pint of bitter tastes like. It doesn’t have any flaws (although it can get sour if the lines aren’t clean), and its flavors are right for the style and reasonably toned down. I am always happy to order a pint of this if I see it on tap, but I’ll often go for something with some more flavor.

martpez (219) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2017
Slightly sour hops fruitiness in the hops with a dry finish. A drinkable but safe bitter. Very well balanced

rodbod (357) - Motherwell, SCOTLAND - APR 10, 2017
On tap at the Drum and Monkey, Glasgow. Pours a mid amber with nae much head. Nose is very traditional - light flowery hops and a little bit of sweet malt. Taste is much the same. Palate is clean. A decent session beer

Davros IX (359) - Hertford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2017
Cask at Sloop in St Ives. A nice malty bitter with a good appearance and a smooth texture. It’s nothing special, but to me that it the hallmark of a good sessionable bitter.

Lore (2746) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAR 29, 2017
Clear amber colour, minimal creamy off-white head; aroma and taste of grains, fruity, floral and nutty-toasty notes; smooth beer

Antzrhere (181) - Blackpool, Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAR 14, 2017
Pours clear copper. Aroma was fresh boiled malt. Taste is sweet honey like malt with fruity hops. Good mouthfeel. First few sips are enjoyable but after half a pint the honey sweetness became too much. Not well balanced
