Bottled. Clear golden with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with some hops, caramel and some metallic notes. Malt, caramel and some citrusy hops. Medium body and a bitter finish with some malty notes. (060908)

Cask at GBBF 2006. Chestnut with lasting beige head. Fruity hop and malt aroma. Soft in mouth with minerally edge. Finish has a bit of caramel and hop. Drinkable fruity malty best bitter.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Slightly fruity and skunky aroma and flavour. Very light and quite thin.

dj (639) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 22, 2006
Bottle, 500ml. An amber-coloured pour with almost no head. A strong, room-filling aroma of floral aromatic hops with some malt and biscuity notes. A nice hoppy, malty taste with some honey, banana and a hint of biscuit. A nice sweet, hoppy finish. Very light carbonation. Pretty good, but rather similar to Doom Bar...

Gravity at Plymouth Beer Festival. Amber with no head. Scent is honey, maybe slightly vinegary. Taste is predominantly of malts. OK but average.

Nekronos (4213) - Xalapa, MEXICO - APR 20, 2006
It says "Pure" also in the name, so maybe the name is wrong. But what counts is the flavour, it was not annoying and nice in aroma. The foam was bubbling and the colour nice.

Bottle. Pleasant toasty, cereal nose. Orangey amber hue with a weak head and some lace. Flavour takes the standard run from initial sweet malt to a bitter finish that refreshes but doesn’t inspire. That said, it’s very drinkable.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2009 1. Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Kensington Olympia 06/08/2003 Golden coloured with some fruit and wheat aromas. Bitter malt finish. 2. Cask Handpump at the Penny Black JDW, Northwich 28/03/2008 Wheat and some hop aroma. Golden amber coloured hoppy and floral with a crisp bitter and slightly dry wheat and malt finish.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] An orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty - but quite light. The flavor is boring with light notes of caramel, leading to a light hoppy dry end.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2007 Jan 07 Cask conditioned @ South Western Arms, Soton. I tried this again as I only remembered having the bottled version of this. Sllight banana nose with caramelly malts. Uninteresting hops lurking in the background. Over sweetly malty for me. 2.7
May 06 Cask conditioned @ The Crown, Old Basing. Slightly fruity banana hint to the malts. Not lots going on, mostly malty. 2.8
Oct 05Bottle (from Tescos). Malt focussed bitter. Light slighty sweet malt - not overly interesting. 2.6
