3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned handpull at Market Porter. Chestnut colour with lasting beige head. A slightly sulphury aroma soon burns off. Some sherbert. Fullish, creamyish. Some fruit. A little bit earthy, but this really nice sharp sherbert hop comes up on the finish. Odd, I don’t like the first hit, but the swallow and finish are good.
Like a slightly stronger version of Doom Bar, this is as average as their flagship ’brand’. On the dark end of the spectrum for a bitter these days, it is I guess, ’balanced’ but the hop input appears to be bitterness and no more. Not one I can see myself sampling again. ciaranc (1102) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAR 17, 2015
Cask at The Blue Peter, Polperro, Cornwall. Amber pour, little head, malty notes, delicate flavours, short finish, easy drinking. hohops (983) - Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2014
Cask. Dark amber, a one finger foamy white head. Aroma- dark malt hints, fruity, raisiny. More dark fruit in the taste, malty, an understated bitterness, quite a bit of toffee towards the end. Pretty good. gegwilson (3676) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 8, 2014
Cask. amber with an off white head. Fairly malty with a touch of spice and a little citrus on the finish. OK kwik-lime (1915) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 4, 2013
Fairly red in colour although witha head that goes quite quickly. Smooth mouthful, taste is mainly malt with some caramel and herbs. A little bland because the flavours aren’t too strong but a perfectly decent session beer.

Cask in the Prince Bonaparte W2. Brown coloured bitter, foamy head. Initially quite malty, earth and toffee biscuit, then a curious fresh maybe herbal hop note. Very drinkable and decent balance, not bad. Creedence (309) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 21, 2013
Cask at Franciscan Well. Pours a clear copper-red with a half-inch white foam. Aroma is muted wood, toast nuts, apples and bubblegum. Taste is close to nothing - light sweetness with very, very light bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth and watery, little if any aftertaste. Very muted and bland beer, overall. Although at the same time there isn’t anything wrong with it per se, it’s just phenomenally inoffensive. Theydon_Bois (19200) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2012
Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham - 15/12/12.

Taste comprises summer fruits, malt, yeast esters, Ribena and berry fruits, caramel, touch of biscuit.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitter finish.
Ok stuff. jackl (8029) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Deep amber color with little head. The nose is sweet, of roasted malts, raisin bread. Toasted malts dominate the taste, little bitterness, dry finish. Average/medium mouthfeel, a bit watery. Overall, an inoffensive bitter. mike_77 (6603) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - SEP 11, 2011
Red fruit in the aroma. Texture is quite thick and sticky. Sweet flavour, very fruity. There’s also a slighty oaky red wine sourness to this too
