Bottled, 330ml from Tesco in Banbury, Oxon, aged 4 yrs. Hazy deep red amber with fizzed but short lived head. Initially this beer was quite coarse and rough on the palate, harsh spiced notes that were a bit of a shock but as the beer settled down it calmed to a smooth, fruity, caramel malty beer, sweetish with a pleasant alcohol kick, wine like. I'm glad I persevered as it was going to be a drain pour but it ended quite pleasantly.

Bottle kindly shared by O. Pours dark reddish brown with small, white head. Slightly boozy, caramel aroma. Not much else. Taste is very sweet with sticky caramel, spice, raisins. A little bit of dry cardboard.

Bottle from Tesco, Irlam. Clear deep copper-red with next to no head. Spicy on the lips before it gets in the mouth, but it’s only mildly so once in the palate. It has a heavy sticky-sweet berry fruitiness in both aroma and taste, but it’s strength becomes more overbearing as you go along.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2015 Bottle from Tescos in Rickmansworth, Herts. A dark amber/red coloured pour with a healthy off white head on top. Boozy, caramel, spice aroma. Tastes similar, boozy, caramel, spice, fruity, slightly sweet. Hard to believe that this is 9% went down easily. Very good.

Bottle from the brewery about 18 months ago - since then it’s been in my beer fridge at 12C. Extremely drinkable for 9% - can’t tell it’s that strong! Dark amber, small but lasting head. Raisin aroma, can’t taste coriander specifically, but spicy notes especially at the end. Hints of liquorice, honey, and lingering sweetness and slight bitterness. Wish I had more of them!

I think the ABV may be effecting judgement but .... Pours a tawny wind with an effervescent head which disappears quick. Aroma of berries and cherries and fruitbeer expectation. Taste is delightfully malty, toffee chocolate box which leads to strawberry and burnt sugar. The mouthfeel is dry bitter which is slightly wrong. I like this beer but suspect a big brewer has alcopopped me.

Pours a deep ruby brown colour with a bubbly head which vanishes almost instantly. Nice aroma, red fruits, slight yeast, caramelised stewed apples, spicey and almost medicinal herbal quality and then some slightly burnt sugar. Taste is quite sweet, then sour and pleasingly dry and bitter with the coriander notes lingering on the finish. The alcohol is also noticable. Shame it’s a little watery as others have said. Overall a nice drop and I am pleased I picked up three bottles!

Bottle from Morrison, Newport shared with McTapps. Slightly sourish with herbs, some spices and bread in the aroma. Medium bitter aftertaste and some extra herbs in the end. Not bad.

Bottle from Morrisons in Newport. Pours out in a deep dark ruby-brown colour with low steady head and medium body. Aroma of herbs and spices with some malty hints. Taste of light yeast, bitter hops, raisins, bread, spices and herbs. Light unquaffable and thin finish. Nice one.

Bottle. Bronze with a lovely spiced aroma. Body is powerful yet easy to drink. Spicy with some subtle traces of wheat. Very dangerous as there is little hint of its strength when you are drinking it. Easily the best beer I have ever bought from TESCO.
