On tap at Capone’s, Norristown. Nice thick body, somewhat oily consistency and a medium head. Nose of sharp booze but also heavy vanilla bean. Body was a bit slick, palate occasionally a bit hot. Flavors were very enjoyable, with the bourbon mellowing alongside vanilla and hints of sweet cherry. dmac (6215) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Draught at Capones. Poured a medium density deep dark brown with a foamy light beige head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, light roastiness, wood, chocolate. The body is a little thin, softer carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor of vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, toast. Solid beer. UPDATED: MAY 16, 2012 Sample on draft at The House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a black color with a small creamy tan head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was coconut, vanilla, malted milk and light chocolate. The flavor was moderately bitter and toasty with notes of coconut, vanilla, chocolate syrup, bourbon, malted milk and raisin. There was a light boozy presence that did note distract too much. The fish was long with coconut, vanilla, cocoa and raisin lingering. Thick, smooth and creamy body. Excellent.

Draft at Craft Ale. Pours hazy brown with tan head and nose of earthy woody malt, some vanilla, cherry/berry notes, and some rauchy wafts. Tastes unique, with a definite rauchy malty forefront, then some berry, vanilla, and cacao notes. JFURYCAT (1078) - East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Fresh growler from the brewpub miles from my house not a pub hours away! Woody smoky taste with a chocolate layer to it and a roasted aftertaste. Medium dry with a chewy texture. Bit of a soda-like sour aspect from the bourbon cask underlying the pleasant elements of the beer but its a quality beer nonetheless. Lubiere (13796) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 26, 2010
A dark reddish brown porter with a thin big bubbled moka head. An interesting peaty chocolate aroma, wooden, not bad, more smokey. In mouth, an interesting mix of chocolate, light sour cherries, vanilla beans, and sherry cork. A bit thin but interesting. On tap at DBA Brooklyn, 1st Williamsburg Cask Ale Festival, Jan 10 2010.
