An English-style strong ale. This brown ale has great malt depth and drinks like a session beer.

Drought. Reddish brown with beige foamy head, no specifi aroma I could detect, mellow roasted malt taste, average carbonation, long finish with a hint of coffee in it. Good with chili.

2013-04-27. Crisp dark amber body, small off white head. 3++ Aroma is malty, sweet with drier accents. Flavour is fairly malty, sweet. Accents of molasses sweetness contrasts with mild brown ale like toasty malt. Finish is sweet then fades into dryer malt. Smooth average plus palate. Enjoyable, relatively simple but pretty tasty. On tap at Reservoir, Waterbury.

Darker pour. Some caramel notes. Pretty straightforward. Not very strong at all and definitely on the malty side.

Tap pour - @ JJ. Pours dark brown with thick, full tan-white head, ladtong and good retention. Plum, currants, and sweet malt grape on the nose. Tastes of maple, brown sugar, roasty malts, cocoa, and slight yeasty notes. Very good. Yum.

12oz bottle in an English pint. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Aroma of caramel and doughy malts plus a light hoppiness and a little toffee. Flavor the same with a lot of malts. Average to smooth texture. An interesting beer but there’s something that’s a little off.

Pours a dark reddish brown. Aroma of syrup and chocolate malts. Taste is syrupy sweet up front with a little spiciness in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

VALIS (229) - Nashua, New Hampshire, USA - APR 1, 2013
Strong malty, candy scent, but without that dark fruit character of most other malty beers. Bitter and sweet, caramel, raisin bread, brown sugar, but stopping well short of sticky sweetness. Interesting.

nice deep brown hint of red appearance . I really enjoyed the maltiness of this; smoother, sweeter less roasted than other brown ales I've tried recently. I really enjoyed it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
