Growler from Florian’s in Auburn. Beautiful amber-red body with a thin film of off-white head. Citrus and piney hops dominate the aroma. The same citrus and pine hops dominate the flavor to a great degree with enough malt to help balance the hops in the beer, A true APA. A nice medium body with only moderate carbonation. A very drinkable, full flavored, pleasant ale. I’m impressed. Love to have something like this local. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - AUG 17, 2005
(cask conditioned - Great Lost Bear) deep copper with nice off-white head. Faint hop and malt aromas. Nice hops flavor, well balanced with malt. Hints of fruit. Mouthfeel is low carbonation as expected from a cask ale. This beer alone made the trip to Maine worthwhile. 3daddict (139) - Portland, Maine, USA - AUG 18, 2005
On draught at Great Lost Bear. Medium bronze color with an easy two finger frothy head. Served at room temperature which allowed all flavors to present themselves. Flavor reminded me of Belgium doubles but with a yeastier more English taste. Well worth the time to stop in if you are anywhere close to Portland, Maine. Pours a brassy reddish amber with a rather persistent head of fine foam. Rich fruity nose with notes of apple, pear and grape. Tart apple like taste but very well balanced. The tartness is balanced out with sweet and caramel notes atypical of a bitter. Tart and tangy finish. CapFlu (5126) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 16, 2005
(Draught) Sampled on tap at the Great Lost Bear in Portland, ME. Lasting, medium, foamy head with a hazy, non-carbonated copper body. Very hoppy with a nail polish and perfume nose. Very good bitterness in the palate and a extremely good balance with malt.

Cask conditioned. Not much aroma, slightly alcholic. Nice creamy palate. Absolutely wonderful flavour - honey sweetness with floral notes. Just enough bitterness to be balancing. I would highly recomend trying this beer. VTHopHead (1511) - Seymour, Tennessee, USA - JUL 20, 2006
Draft @ Great Lost Bear in Portland - Poured a clear brown in color with almost no head and very little carbonation. Aroma was faint of hops and some underlying malty sweetness. Flavor was of floral hops and was slightly sweet. Nicely bitter through to the finish. Thick palate. Very good.
