Cask-conditioned at the Wenlock Arms, London 17/12/09. Copper coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of caramel and earthy, cereal malts. Flavour had more of the same, with plenty of chewy, almost savoury malt and a light, bitter finish. Very good and reminded me of Scottish 70 shillings. A Mes rate. Cask at the Wenlock Arms.
Fully copper coloured with a thin off white head. Earthy toffee and faintly peated aroma. Although a little basic on the nose the flavour is much better. Plenty of toffee malt, leather, slight tobacco and some excellent earthy notes. Little bitterness except for a faint lick in the finish. Effortlessly drinkable and all round, a decent seventy shilling.
