COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shepherd Neame uses only the finest blend of Kent hops and barley to create this rich, warming ale to savour as the autumn leaves start to fall. This rich autumn ale mingles nourishing Crystal malts with enchanted Kentish hop garden scents, and the spicy freshness of East Kent Golding hops.

Cheap 500ml clear glass bottle, filtered. Ive come to this from drinking Youngs Special London Ale, so I feel a little underwhelmed, and that it being a cheap beer in a clear bottle, and filtered, doesnt give me a positive buzz. However, there is some Autumnal character in the crystal malt. I like that malt, as its roasted just enough for the character to start to show, but no so much that it burns and becomes anonymous. And the crystal is used judiciously so it doesnt become cloying or overbearing. The hops gently season. Theres potential here. But, the beer does taste thin, and does taste filtered and force carbonated.

Bottle from Lidl, Todmorden. Copper-amber with next to no head. Theres a few grainy malts in its nose, with a crispness in its taste, which is a fairly ordinary malty bitter.

Bottle. Dark rust ale with a decent offwhite head. Nose is mild caramel and toffee. Taste is nuts, caramel and a saltiness. A spicy hoppiness throughout. Decent, but not mindblowing.

A red brown coloured beer with a frothy off white head. A slightly sweet malt aroma, then a hop aroma comes through, oily and a touch rubbery! Dry mouthfeel. A dry malt taste, nutty and woody, this is followed by a zesty hop flavour, grassy and a tad oily. This hoppy taste lasts well into the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Bronze in a clear bottle. Not a lot of flavour but not unpleasant either.Plenty of body for its strength. Nothing exciting but still quite pleasant.

Jan 2013 I may well have had this on draught before, as in the past I have tended to go for beers with autumn in the title for some reason. Sweet caramel malts with a bit of honey and frothy mid-body. Slightly watery flavour. Easy drinking, a little bland but theres nothing wrong with it.
