COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can: Filtered.
Launched 1958.
Bishops Finger takes its name from the finger-shaped signposts which pointed pilgrims on their way to the tomb of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury and was the first strong ale to be brewed by Shepherd Neame after malt rationing was eased in the late 1950s. It is one of the UKs oldest bottled beers, brewed since 1958.
Bishops Finger holds EU Protected Geographical Indication, recognising its unique provenance. Uniquely, it is brewed to a charter which states it can only be brewed by the head brewer on a Friday and that it must be brewed using 100% natural ingredients, Kentish hops and barley, and the brewerys own artesian mineral water.

500ml bottle from Asda. Pours a clear amber brown with a medium off-white head. Aromas are caramel and bready malt, some floral hoppiness. Taste is sweet and malty, somewhat metallic. Slightly bitter and hoppy at the finish, but metallic tinges.

Bottle. Amber colored with a orange hue, clear and with medium smooth tan head. Caramel and toffee in the nose along with some citrus, cookies a floral touch. Light sweet in the beginning, pleasently bitter in the middle and the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation and a foamy mouthfeel. There is a slight alcoholic warmth in the finish that grows into the aftertaste and stays for a while. Flavor is mostly malty, caramel and cookies however well bedded in the bitter taste, and with a light floral and citrus note, as well as a slight peppery touch. Aftertaste is medium, warm and bitter dry.

PL: Miedziane, klarowne. Piana brudnoszara, duża. W miarę szybko schodzi. W zapachu karmel, orzech, tytoń. W smaku orzechowe, karmelowe, mocno przyprawowe. Do tego także owocowe. Smaki tutaj tańczą ze sobą, naprawdę przyjemnie. Standardowo niskie wysycenie, nawet treściwe.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2016 Pours clear deep amber with a medium lasting beige head; nice lacing. Herbal and spicy hop notes on top followed by toast, biscuit, nuts, some caramel. Mellow bitterness leads the taste accompanied by light sweetness and and lighter sourness. Medium carbonation and body. Very drinkable!

A light fruity aroma, malty, light bitter, quite nice. The small beige fizzy head disappears fast, the body is dark red. A bitter and malty taste with a long finish. The body is light to medium strong, creamy and dry with a lot of carbonation.

Served in a shaker from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear ruby amber colour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is caramel, toast, some grassy notes. Taste is slightly dry bitter with toffee and nutty notes, a hint of vanilla in the finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Smooth, interesting, complex enough to enjoy and yet not too complex to stop you from reaching for another one straight away. Excellent stuff!

Skuszony niską ceną w Lidlu (i opiniami, że to udana warka), nabyłem celem degustacji owo piwo. Lata temu je piłem i nawet mi smakowało... Jednak dużo piwa upłynęło od tamtego czasu... Kolor miedziany. piana na dwa palce, nieco dziurawa. Aromat karmelu i przypalonej skrki. Dość przyjemny. W smaku lekko wodniste, ale karmel i skrka obecne. Goryczka średnia w kierunku niskiej, ale przyjemna w odbiorze. Wysycenie średnie. Pozytywnie jestem zaskoczony. Za rynkową cenę powyżej 10zł bym się nie skusił, ale promocja za ponad połowę mniej wydaje się rozsądna ;)
