COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can: Filtered.
Launched 1958.
Bishops Finger takes its name from the finger-shaped signposts which pointed pilgrims on their way to the tomb of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury and was the first strong ale to be brewed by Shepherd Neame after malt rationing was eased in the late 1950s. It is one of the UKs oldest bottled beers, brewed since 1958.
Bishops Finger holds EU Protected Geographical Indication, recognising its unique provenance. Uniquely, it is brewed to a charter which states it can only be brewed by the head brewer on a Friday and that it must be brewed using 100% natural ingredients, Kentish hops and barley, and the brewerys own artesian mineral water.

Skuszony niską ceną w Lidlu (i opiniami, że to udana warka), nabyłem celem degustacji owo piwo. Lata temu je piłem i nawet mi smakowało... Jednak dużo piwa upłynęło od tamtego czasu... Kolor miedziany. piana na dwa palce, nieco dziurawa. Aromat karmelu i przypalonej skrki. Dość przyjemny. W smaku lekko wodniste, ale karmel i skrka obecne. Goryczka średnia w kierunku niskiej, ale przyjemna w odbiorze. Wysycenie średnie. Pozytywnie jestem zaskoczony. Za rynkową cenę powyżej 10zł bym się nie skusił, ale promocja za ponad połowę mniej wydaje się rozsądna ;)

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2016 0.5l bottle. Clear ruby body, quickly disappearing off-white head. Aroma of bread, toast, carame, minimal butter and some floral hops. Taste of toast, caramel, raisins, a hint of roasted malts and quite a lot of floral/spicy hops in the finish. Correct beer.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2016 Great ruby amber color with 3 fingers of head. Toast, caramel and leafy hops. Nice dry bitter with toffee, nutty malts, some vanilla in the initial sip then long dry bitterness. Perfect sipper to watch some footie. Really smooth and simple. Would be great next to a steak! Bomb pub ale, would love to try it on cask.

Malty, sweety aromat, caramel, unfortunately diacetyl. Amber colour, beige head, nice lacing. The beer is quite high carbonated, just like a lager beer. Taste is caramel and dry, but with a sweet touch in the end. Bitterness is medium to high. Grassy and in the European style. Texture is thick, long bitter aftertaste. For me, its body is too high, Im not sure if I can drink 2 or 3 pints of this beer. Just a very traditional ale.
