Bottled, Pasteurised. One of two bottles kept over from 2 years ago. Dry malty, earthy flavour with a modicum of bitterness. Pleasant rounded flavours, whiskey like and a alcoholic punchy finish.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2010 Bottle at Chris’ Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia tasting. Cloudy brown, lasting beige head. Cherry hits you up front. Lovley cherry flavour I thought. Really drinkable and I liked it. 837315 3.6/5.0 Separate rate for 1999 with the almonds. Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Stale malt aroma, hazelnuts come through. Sweetish, and I rather liked it. Deent. Love the tangerine/orange fruit. Lovely nuts. 638316 3.6/5.0 Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 11, 2005

1998 bottle with Cherry Brandy. Cloudy brown beer. Malty but doesn’t taste aged. Sweet cherry almond flavours bursting through. Finishes soft and dry. Second bottle of this old beer. Both survived very well indeed!
31st July 2010. ChrisO’s ’Raise The Roof’ tasting.
1999 bottle with Almonds Clear brown beer. Sweet malt with well integrated sweet nuts. Another of these Sheps Christmas beers that has survived very well. 3.5

1996 bottle with Spices Clear red - brown beer. No head and no carbonation. Fruity cinnamon nose. Light sourness to start - fruit and a trace of red wine! A little chocolate and mellow cinnamon. Really nicely joined up! Another amazing old war horse from Sheps!
Bottle 1999 Version, had this 07-01-07. Poured a fairly standard brown colour and had good clarity. Tastewise this still tasted suprisingly good, the almonds were still very much in evidence though they had mellowed somewhat and added a softness to the alcohol which still was quite punchy, some spiciness also present and overall despite it’s age I was pleasantly suprised and rather enjoyed this beer. cgarvieuk (24465) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 22, 2010
