Amber color with fine beige head. Good sweet and hoppy aroma that quickly disappears. fine woody flavor but a little alcohol strong. worldbeertaste (1805) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2012
Pasteurized bottle copper colour with a thick bubbly off-white thick lasting head. Smells of strong malt, straw, caramel and wood. Herbal elements on top of a classic bitter nose. Medium to full sticky body with soft carbonation. Light roasted malt with an herbal woody caramel centre, cinnamon, raisin, nutmeg. Just a bit on alcohol and warmness lingers. Very Christmasy BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2012
Clear 500ml bottle, poured into my ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged vase shaped pint glass. best before date of Nov 09, drank Sep 09.
Clean, clear and bubbley looking, the colour was a deep amber with a slightly off-white head.
Spices and hops in the nose, but nothing overly strong that I could find. A hint of nuts too?
Good spicey, tangy flavours. Peat fires and smoking jackets come to mind, this isn’t a smoked beer though, just my thoughts coming out when I think of Christmas. Brazil nuts and sugared almonds also appeared in my head as I drank down the brew.
A true Christmas feel to it, the 7% makes it an even more wintery beer, very drinkable in my opinion.

Pours copper with a light beige large and long lasting head. Aroma of caramel, bread, fruits and a faint smokiness. Flavor of caramel and fruits with a nice bitterness, though with an odd background taste.

(bottle) Clear, deep amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Slightly bready caramel-malty aroma with notes of liquorice and herbal as well as subtle fruity hops, accompanied by spicy notes as cinnamon in the background. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Bready malt-character with well-blended spicy herbal hops and a very subtle fruity touch of citrus; moderately sweet toffee-ish finish with present hops. Good. 25.XII.11 sfhodense (4789) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JAN 13, 2012

2009, 7.0%, deep amber with a thin head, fruity hoppy aroma, the taste which is warming, is sweet, fruity, hoppy and slightly caramel, much the same as last year’s, a good Christmas Ale. I was not able to find the brew for 2010 or 2011. ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 6, 2012
Bottle. Amber body, small off-white top. Nose is caramel, toffee and hints of apricot. Taste is roasty nuts, caramel malts and hints of toffee. Plain and generic, but OK.
