Theres a spicy signature to this incredibly complex cockle-warming winter ale. The nose is reminiscent of raisins, dates and molasses while the palate is vinous with tannin-like notes of leather, vanilla, apricots and a hint of rustic Armagnac on the finish. An awesome after-dinner drop.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours copper with a slight head that settles as a vail on the beer. Nice looking, very christmasy. The aroma is jackpot: dried fruit, pipe tobacco and chocolate powder, sweetness and spice blended. I have to say, this beer has the most attractive and delicious aroma I have come across. The taste is more in the spicy department, from the hops. The sweetness in shape of dried fruits and chocolate plays supporting actors while the spicy hops strolls across the tongue. This is a truly fantastic beer. I will buy it and have one with my father on xmas eve.

bottle. coppery clear. nice smooth caramelly, bit buttery, butterscotchy caramelly nose. medium bodied, tastes a bit herby metallic, slight nutty caramelly. some spicing. malty, caramels, burnt sugary. bit nutty buttery. fine by me. isnt a really heavily xmassy- spiced drink, unless that buttery thing is it. and it isnt an unpleasant faulty buttery note, just sorta rounding soothing one.

Great strength with lots of warming flavours present. Its a pity this beer is not available all year round. One of my favourites.

Flaske 500ml. Spandert av Rune. Delt med ham og djoeye i WCveien 9 Jan 17. Gyldenbrun. Middels hyt skum med litt farge. Pen kniplingslacing. God aroma av honning & karamell med hint av frukt. Smaken som aromaen. Bra fylde. Grei - men litt tungdrikkelig. Ikke mye julepreg.

500ml bottle bought at Systembolaget PK-huset,. Stable pearl white head, spotty lacing. Bright amber in body colour. Smell of dried fruits and caramel. Malt-fruity flavours of honey, caramel and dried fruits, lightly spiced with cinnamon. Malt-fruity end, rather sweet. Fine bodied. Nice, a bit heavy to drink though (Shared with Finn and djoeye at a session in Troms, 09.01.2017).

Smells of malts and mild spices. Pours a redish gold colour, and head disappears quick. Taste is of an ale with very mild spice notes. Good carbonation, with very little aftertaste.. Overall I was happy with this one. Will buy again at Christmas.
