Couleur brune sombre, bonne mousse. Nez malt grillé avec café et chocolat.Gout malt grillé, grain de café avec des notes douces chocolat, le grillé prenant bien le dessus avec bonne amertume de chocolat noir. Bon corps, un peu cremeux. Fin longue malté grillée. Nickel

DraftDodger (1448) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2016
Copenhagen 19/11 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny. The label looks like something out of the 17th century. But then again if you present yourselves as "Britains Oldest Brewer" it probably has to be this way. Pours opaque dark dark brown with off-white head. Settles as thin creamy layer of foam. Lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is rich. Coffee, dark chocolate, oak and s little brown sugar. The main impression is rather bitter. Medium to low carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is on the fairly bitter side. Medium sweetness followed by more pronounced bitterness. Bitter aftertaste. Lingering. A lot of flavor for a ABV of 5.2. Even though it is kind of strange to drink a beer with the word "Double" on the label which only have a single digit ABV.

koshack (1771) - Gdańsk, POLAND - NOV 12, 2016
Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana brązowa, drobna, obfita. W aromacie mocne nuty palone, kakao, gorzka kawa.

One of the best in style - perfect balance, full body, without any hint to overload sweet. Job well done GB:)

Schwarz. Geruch Karamell und Röstaromen. Geschmack leicht wässrig. Zu wenig Substanz für ein Stout.

Night_Cap (119) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - OCT 1, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2016 Bottle 500ml. Served at room temperature. Pours a deep, dark brown with a slight haze and a ruby tint. Head is medium sized, dense, tanned, and lasts wonderfully. Aroma is of earthy hops, roasted barley, brown bread crusts, toasted raw sugar, dried currants, blueberries (light), milk chocolate bullets and faint notes of weak black coffee. Flavour is a light earthy hop bitterness with notes of toasted rye bread; soft liquorice, weak/watery coffee, coco powder (light), horse blanket (light), dried currants, blueberries (light), a touch of treacle, and notes of burnt toast/charcoal in the finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation, watery texture and a long, dry, toasty finish. A VERY pleasant and easy drinking British stout.

klm1 (1501) - Bled/SF, - SEP 21, 2016
Pours black, clear with creamy long lasting beige light. Aroma: intense roasted malt aroma, with notes of burnt, intense roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate. Practically the same are flavors, supported with spicy hop flavor, which steps forward before finish. Finish is dry, sligtly bitter. Body medium, texture is soft, carbonation is medium.

Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, a bit of roasted malts. Taste is light sweet, light bitter. Light body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Pretty good for 5,2% ABV.
