500ml dark bottle from Morrisons. Retro label. I do like the retro beers that some of the older breweries are doing. They are not authentic recreations - these are older recipes brewed on modern equipment, with modern ingredients and yeasts, and in a modern style, but I like the idea. This, of course, doesn’t taste any different from any modern stout brewed at around this strength. The thing with stouts is that like espresso coffee, the ingredients and recipe tend to make beers that don’t leave much room for individuality or character. This is a typical roasted malts dark beer. All the flavours and mouthfeel that you’d expect are here - like drinking raspberry jam on burnt toast. Lovely.

From bottle in porter glass. Pours black with beige head and aroma of cocoa. Smooth taste with a bit of smokiness in the dry finish. Old school. vinivini (2227) - Gomel, BELARUS - MAY 31, 2017
Bottle. Pours inky black with tall airy beige head. Good retention & lacing. Aroma: big roast & coffee, earth. Light to medium body. Soft carbonation. The taste is very dry. Smooth roastiness, coffee and solid floral and citrusy ending bitterness make it be a beautiful example of classic English stouts. SeniorZozo (1841) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 26, 2017

Nagy, tartós hab, fekete szín. Csokis, pörkölt malátás illat. Száraz, pörkölt malátás, enyhén csokis, kakaós ízek, nyomokban egy kis gyümölcsösséggel. Közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Egyszerű, letisztult stout.

Pours with good head, which stays. Lovely roasted smell and taste. Thick in the mouth as you would expect. Lovely. dutchbeerpages (2439) - Wilnis, NETHERLANDS - MAY 1, 2017
love me a good british stout. Not as thick as you’d want maybe but flavorful. I noticed myself drinking this a lot slower than I’d usually drink.

May 2016. (HTF did this one slip under the beerdar?) Oily pitch trimmed with ruby under a pocked tan neck. The foam collapses painting the pot with messy lace. Aroma of bramble, ozone and iron filings. Thick cask nick with a glossy dark cocoa viscosity singed happily at the edges. Rust and oysters. Mocha, bramble and burnt almonds. Laudable clout and heft. Easy to slug although not without a streak of heat. Punchy, full and well roasted. Stock up at Ł1:25 a punt.

Uzupełnienie z notatek. Bardzo przyjemny stout, dosyć grzeczny, niezbyt agresywny, przez to lekki w odbiorze i bardzo pijalny. faroeviking (10836) - FAROE ISLANDS - APR 8, 2017
Botella. Black colour, light brownish head. Pleasanta roma of roasted malt and chocolate with dark fruit. Flavour has roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, bit smoke to it, soft, bit thin but really a fine brew.
