(At Bishops Arms, Avenyn, Gotenburg) Golden with a creamy oggwhite head. Mild, fruity aroma. Flavor from grapes, grassy, fruity and with a quite nice bitterness. Hoppy finish. Quite a good beer to start the afternoon with...

Light and much vanishing head. Red limpid color, clearly and stationary. Flowery and woody scent; pleasant notes of toasted malt and ash. Dry, smooth and arid taste. Little alcoholic but a lot watery on the end.

Cask (handpump) at the Willow Walk (JDW), Victoria. Hmm. I assumed this was just a rebranding of best Bitter rather than a JDW special, but it seems I was wrong. Light copper colour. Earthy, dusty hops and dry malt. Very English and very Shepherd Neame.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2007 Apr 07 Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Fairly hoppy - dusty and leafy. Unfortunately they feel a little like dried herbs - slightly stale. not great.2.4
Dec 05 Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Stale cheesy hop aroma. Other than that some classic english malt flavours but just not that great. 2.6

Cask, Moon Under the Water, Boston. hazy red/copper in colour. Aromas are berry fruit with sweet malts, earthy hops with sulphur and spices. Flavours are biscuit malts with fruit, earthy and dry with spices. Has a good finish that is very moreish. A good example of the style.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Copper coloured with slight head. Sweetish darkly roasted malts dominate with a slight resinous woodiness to the palate and a vague smoky burnt note. A restrained tea like hop on the finish, with a bittering end. Overall a little thin.
