"A distinctive, mid-brown bitter ale, with all the hoppy aroma you’d expect of a beer brewed in the heart of the hop country. Well balanced, with a taste that’s been described as "wonderfully aggressive, tinged with sweetness". "

My Bottom Line:
Rocky minerals meet fruity caramel accents, a simple profile which watches over a fledgling hop aftertaste.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the clear amber, lacing nicely.
-Mouthfeel is a tad watery.
-The mineral water flavour is on the dusty side too.
-The very low carbonation (under average for a cask on a handpull) doesn’t help these flavors to shine.
-When the water profile appears to be the main contributor to your beer’s flavour, there is a problem.

On cask at Ye Olde Pumphouse, Hastings.

Cask at GBBF. Dark orange, still, clear, small bubbly white head. Aroma is resin, toffee, dried fruits. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is sweetish biscuity malts, some resin and fruit, dry finish. Simple classic malty bitter. Not bad.

Underwhelming - maybe not a surprise given the style. Copper coloured and clear with a small covering of off-white head. Light and watery body. Some earthy hop and caramel malt. In my opinion if you want a light session beer then stick to lagers or IPAs.

On tap at the three horseshoes, Waddington. A slightly disappointing beer. Not much to say other than below par bitter.
