Draught. Very dark ruby brown colour, very close to black. Aroma is yeast, hops, mild roasted malts as well as some chocolate. Flavour is quite sweet and mildly acidic fruityness along with roasted malts. As it warms up also some coffeeish and chocolateish notes become present in the flavour too. Nice, but still quite watery.

Draught at Bishops Arms, eskilstuna. Transparently near black, minimal head. Unpleasantfruity metallic nose. Swetish and blnd. Syrup and metal are way more prominent than roasty malt. This and sloppy as a macro lager with artificial colouring. Finishes with aluminium foil and soy sauce saltiness.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 28, 2011
Bottle 50 cl. Pours a very dark brown - close to black - with an orange hue and a small off-white head. A pruney aroma, no real roastiness. Medium body, sweet dark fruits and a little licorice. A yeasty and not entirely pleasant edge. 280511

Dryish, good porter, but not a standpoint. A bit of hopsack in the aroma...

Dark brown, almost opaque color with small expresso head. Sweetish, chocolaty aroma with some hops. Crisp, tickling carbonation. Starts a bit toasted malty, but then suprisingly flavor leans more towards to bitter and hoppy side. Some menthol in the aftertaste. Dark malts are there, slightly watery finish anyhow. Interesting, although not a really top class porter.

Keg (Kitty’s, Helsinki)
Very dark red, small beige head. Quite thin and fizzy palate, it appreciates a bit of a swirl. Otherwise the mouthfeel is pretty full - there’s a good roasted malt body. Finish is also burnt malt bitterness. As it warms, the body fills out with some dark fruity sweetness too. Tastes all very well integrated. Look forward to seeing this on cask...
