A Mes rate. Cask at the Bloomsbury Tavern. This is the new "Winter Hop" version and I have to say it’s pretty bloody good. Roasty coffee, good chocolate, solid malt, nice hints of fruit and vanilla and all good stouty stuff with a really good hoppy bite late on. Nice dryness. Good weighty feel. Eventual grainy chocolate right at the death. A very enjoyable brew. Get in Sheps! KnutAlbert (6771) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 14, 2008
Cask stillage at the 2008 Pigs Ear.
Very dark brown.
Smooth and easy, a little smoke, some liquorice. Quaffable.
The extra hops are hard to detect here. liinis (1775) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 31, 2008
Helsinki "Rotterdam" tap 0,5 l
big disappointment as it is Watery, tasteless and odorless. black with deep red when looked through against a lamp.
too much carbonation stings in mouth and tongue. like tasting a 9 V battery with your tongue.
Brown long lasting thin head, leaves a lace on the glass. raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - MAR 25, 2008
Cask at Seilori, Helsinki. Black with small beige head. Nose has roasted malts and liqourice, even anise. Flavor is nicely roasted, strong on salty liqourice with a dose of tar and smoke with a little ashy sourness. Nicely smooth and balanced. mirjukka (752) - LOHJA, FINLAND - MAR 9, 2008

Draught. Dark brown/black, with a shade of red. Thick, creamy, beige head. Reminds me of that of Murphys canned. Chocolate, cream and roastyness in the aroma. The taste isn’t strong, but it’s almost perfectly balanced. Long bitter, smokey, finish. Creamy palate. Finn (7916) - Tromsø, NORWAY - FEB 18, 2008
Cask at The Prince of Wales - Kennington 6 Feb 08. Black. A tiny layer-head that soon disappeared. Modest aroma of chocolate. Watery. Roasted flavor with some dry bitterness in the aftertaste. HarryFlashman (469) - Chatham, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2008
I don’t like porter, but thought I would try this as it’s the Neame seasonal winter offering replacing their autumn offering (the exquisite Late Red). As porter’s go, this is as good as you get really. Guinness black (but not the dirty taste) sweet, malty, even chocolatey. Not bad, but not enough to convert me to porter! berkshirejohn (6611) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2008
Cask at the Kings Head, Hythe, Kent. Black with a thin cream head; smooth and creamy and dry, but full bodied, and then vinous and sweet; before arriving at a dry finish with coffee, milk and chocolate. A very enjoyable, complex, porter. fonefan (50669) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 8, 2008
