rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2008
Cask, at Mabels Tavern, St Pancras, March 2006. Red black, thin off white head and low condition. Pleasant coffee bitterness and liquorice sweetness in the nose, sweet burnt caramel and liquorice in the mouth and a gentle fruity finish tinged with a coffee bitterness.

Marsiblursi (3083) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 23, 2007
(Cask) Pors dark with red hints. Lightly roasted aroma with some dark fruits, metal, chocolate, light caramel and hints of berries. Medium roasted flavour with some coffee. Smooth, yet a bit dryish mouthfeel. A tiny liquorice sting both in the aroma and flavour. Light bitter. A bit watery body.

Ostrovni (17) - ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2007
Cask at the Bishop’s Finger, Smithfield London, 23/01/07. Dark brown with a rocky tan head that stayed with the beer for a good while. Very evident hop (subtitled "Winter Hop Ale" no less). Smooth but with appealing bitterness you want in a porter. Carries the alcohol very well. Slightly thin in the body, making it all the more drinkable. I think it’s better this year than last. Great beer!

TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 16, 2006
Pint pulled at The Freemasons Arms in Soho (London), darkish colour with a tan head. A bitter and hoopy palate, not much else to mention.

DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2006
Cask Stillage at the Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt, Liverpool 19/02/2003 Dark coloured and hoppy. Smooth on the palate with a lasting roast malt finish.

larsga (7675) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 5, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2007 Head is thin beige ring; body deep dark brown, just barely translucent. Faint, roasty, chocolatey aroma. Soft, dry, earthy burnt taste with roasty licorice notes and chocolate. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Dry, chocolatey stale aftertaste. Nice. (0.5pt cask at Ashburnham Arms, Greenwich. Update of an earlier rating from Bishop’s Arms, Gothenburg in February 2006.)

Cask at The Bishops Arms, Västra Hamngatan, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Almost no head, only the faintest smell, sharp taste that quickly goes away, followed by nothing until a surprising nice aftertaste mellows in. I probably won’t buy it again, but I’m not very used to porters, so might go back and try it once more in a while.

joergen (29598) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 15, 2006
Cask at Charlies. Dark brown coloured with a medium sized off white head. Light roasted aroma with notes of malts. Roasted flavour with notes of coffee, wood and malts.
