This 3.8% ale is a light chestnut ale with a fruity nose. The spicy notes of this festive ale harmonise to leave a delightful refreshing hoppy finish.

BlackHaddock (7329) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2016
Clear 500ml bottle from a local Lidl: last one on the shelf, should have left it there! Shared with my son on Christmas Day 2016 during a mini tasting session. Red hue to the amber body, thin white head. Slight malty aroma, mild hop bitterness in the taste: no Christmas spices or flavours. Waste of money, even if it was cheap.

5.5% amber in colour with a thin head, it had a bitter aroma and a slight Christmas taste.

It’s Christmas Day and what better way to reward Rudolph for all his hard work than a drop of ale. Enjoy!

SilkTork (5737) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - DEC 5, 2016
500ml clear glass bottle, filtered, from Lidl. 3.8% abv. Cheap as chips and quite drinkable. Not really a Christmas beer though, just a fairly average Sheps beer. It’s soft, a bit dry though with some pleasant bready malt character, and there’s a dusty hop powder in the finish. It’s not great, but it’s OK. Almost like a kvass.

ManVsBeer (10452) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2016
Bottle from Lidl, Sowerby Bridge. Copper coloured with a thin head. A bitter in character with a very light chocolatey sweetness in its background.

Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - JUL 26, 2015
bottle from pivnizub. Clear chestnut-brown colour, small white head. Malty, pleasant sweetness plus some caramel and roasetd malts, dried figs and dates. Nice.

DruncanVeasey (8226) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 26, 2015
Festive red skimmed with pinkish white. Scarce aroma with suggestions of aniseed, treacle, berries and wet hop cone. Papery biscuit, flying saucer Shep’s flavour with streaks of rust and jam. Hay and sherbet. Drinkable and meekly flowery as always.
