CasK .. . pours a dark ruby .. . medium head .. lacing is great .. . deep caramel . .. not all that sweet, the bitterness balances it nicely .. . . good brew .. . . it’s better to love a short girl than not a tall.

[email protected] Cambridge, London. Copper coloured, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, floral and mildly grassy hops. Some slight spicyness as well. Flavour is the same along with some chocolate and nutty notes as well. Rather pleasant Shepherd Neame brew.

[email protected] Flavourful beer. Bitter, light floral, hint of toffee. Light brown, off-white head, good lace. Bit thinnish though. But for just 3.7% ABV a good beer.

Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Light brown, with a decent lively white head. Woody, floral bouquet with green berry. Clean, lightly bitter taste. Slight tannic notes toward the finish. Fairly inconsequential but for a low ABV bitter I found this enjoyable.

Cask conditioned at The Easington, Banbury. Amber to copper with white head. Quite a sweetish, toffee like beer with background notes of liquorice and banana. Some spiciness. It’s reasonably drinkable and not overwhelming.

Cask, brown with thin head and spiced nose, more spice on palate along with red fruit and a dry earthy bitterness.

Cask by handpump at Crystal Palace, Glasgow - clear dark amber, thin off-white head, no lacing, mild fruity aroma, fruity and mild malty aroma, bit watery, soft carbonation, fruity aftertaste

Cask at the Jolly Farmers, Lewisham. For some reason I’ve got this down as ’Rudolph’s Revenge’, what he was seeking vengeance for I’ve no idea. Anyway, chestnut brown pour with a white head. Malt and toffee aroma. Dates, sweet spice and pepper flavour. Not too bad.

Decent session bitter. The spicy christmas additions work well with the mild maltiness. A little watery, and not too complex, but the lovely cask freshness and mouthfeel more than makes up for it.
