Bottle. BB Jan 2013. Pours clear bright amber orange with decent off white tight bubbled head being somewhat resilent. Aromas of light toffee, grains, bread, hints of munich malt and a light melanoidan character, almost wort-like. Hop character diminished by age, however a subtle spruce, floral grassiness character still remains Medium light body, medium high carbonation, a bit spritzy towards the finish. Butterscotch, toffee, complex melanoidan, burnt toffee character. Malts linger on with an estery mineral-like yeast character and a back-seat hop bitterness.

Poured a fairly thick off white creamy looking head and has a clear dark amber appearance, sort of a rusty look. Aromas of strong spices, hints of cinnamon, toffee and dark fruits (plums, raisins). Flavours of earthy and resin hops, strong spices again but quite bitter and refreshing. Barley is also evident as well as dark roasted malts and toffee. Hints of cinnamon comes around in the finish with a dash of caramel. Creamy mouthfeel, little bit chalky, warming sensation. Medium bodied. Lively carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

Aromas have orange zest sherbet, fudge and a mild earthiness. Taste has a light citrus freshness and sweet butteriness balanced nicely with an earthy leaf bitterness. Its clear copper brown with a quickly dissipating head. It has a sharp body with a refreshing sharp fizzy sparkle. Traditional ale flavours with a nice citrus fresh front and refreshing sparkling body.

Clear amber, moderate off-white head. Caramel, biscuit and floral hops on nose. Light to medium body. Bittersweet taste. Decent malts. The hops seem to be not fresh anymore. Still a nice bitter.

Another rating that has disappeared. This is getting frustrating. Have had this on cask and out of the bottle.

Aroma was malty, some sort of fruit I couldnt quite get. Appearance was a dark Amber with very thin white head. Not much carbonation. Taste was toasty at first, very malty. Light to medium bitterness. Overall Spitfire went down well and tasted okay. Nothing exciting but not too bland either. An easy to drink beer.

Bottle. Clear amber beer with small off-white head. Aroma of malt, biscuit, caramel, hints of vegetables. Taste is light sweet, light to medium bitter, biscuit, caramel, malt, herbs. Light+ body, average carbonation. Rather flawed and boring.

Skunk bottle. Unpoured. Scent is light bitter pale ale. Taste is bitter and light notes of hops but noting interesting. About 50 IBU of straight chemical bitterness. Finish is dry. Fine.

0.5 Bottle. Pours clear amber. Aroma: malts, smoke, earthy hops. Taste has low sweetness. Flavors are not very pronounced and follow the nose. Dry and bitter long finish. Nothing special.
