Any first impressions?Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2006
-A veil of foam stays atop the clear light bronze.
-Some fruitiness is perceptible in the otherwise bland aroma.
-Honeyed cereals agree with the peachy, mango-like fruitiness.
-A thin mouthfeel disappoints, especially if you consider the watery passages it exposes.
What if you dig deeper?
-A feeble finish benefits from few bittering hops.
-There is no malt complexity to speak of.
-This forgettable bitter is too vacuous to create any interest in me.
On cask at Tennent’s Bar, Glasgow.
Cask conditioned @ Humble Plum. Copper. Initial light malts with rounded floral hops. Almost watery in the mouth but fairly drinkable. Mild but pleasant hops retain the interest. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2006
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber, sweet aroma, faintly malty. Watery taste with a hint of spice. Perhaps some vanilla? Pleasant low bitter finish.
