2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Lidl, and not very different from all the other specials produced by Sheps for Lidl. Armber. Malty aroma with an almondy tang. Leafy, autumnal taste with very little sweetness and a sharp hoppy finish. Not very magical to be honest. Or mystical either.
Autumnal brown small staying head taste malts caramel slightly thin in body forgettable. BlackHaddock (7574) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2015
500ml bottle poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 20th Nov 2015. Good looking, clean, deep amber/chestnut bodied beer, on top a stable off-white blanket of foam. Roasted/toasted malts rule the nose and flavour, some toffee/caramel esters in the aroma and taste but not strong or powerful enough to take over the hop bitterness below the surface. Palate a bit thin, but my sweet tooth liked aspects of this, so considering it’s cheap supermarket price, it is not too bad. Gary (2054) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2015
500ml . In a tulip. Dusty yeast nose and dusty old books , vanilla covered in fucken dust. caramel and bread . kinda gross but for a Low Boost bitter this gets a jaded 7 on nose . Dull piano colour with a subtle white head . Flavours are ok but dusty and soulless, this would shine on cask . caramel , brown bread, spicy hops , dusty cobwebs , toasted dates , figs and burnt leaves . some decent palate and flavours but too stake in this pasteurised bottle allmyvinyl (10931) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 12, 2014

Bottle, from Lidl, Barton upon Humber (3.8%). Amber brown, thin but sustained white head and gentle condition. Slightly earthy caramel and a muted spiciness in the nose, quite dry and thin in the mouth with an initial brief sweetness quickly supplanted by a metallic hoppiness, finish is long, dry and hop bitter. joe19612 (3020) - camberley, Surrey, ENGLAND - OCT 26, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a thin white head, light aroma, the taste is bitter with a dry finish. StueyD (1586) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - OCT 22, 2013
A mid to dark reddish-brown coloured beer with a frothy white head. A tad sulphurous on opening but this soon dissipates, to leave a fruity, slightly grassy hop aroma. Dry mouthfeel. A bitter citrusy hop taste, then a slightly sweeter malt flavour comes through, the combination of which gives the beer a candied peel flavour, plus a biscuity, cereal taste that lasts into the finish along with the citrusy hops.
