Hey Gobot...this stour was not out in Dec...its was made only for the Winter Beer Fest this year. Perhaps you meant a different beer, cuz this one is awesome. Not too much hazelnut or coffee flavor, excellent color and lacing. GREAT STOUT EXPERIMENT, RAY!
Draft at brewery. Near black pour with a thin, brown head. Coffee, hazelnut and some burnt toast aroma. Flavor is dominated by sweet roasted malts with nice tones of the coffee and hazelnut coming through in the finish. Average carbonation with a creamy texture. Smooth and very enjoyable. deyholla (11745) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 12, 2010
Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured black with a brown head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma was full of hazelnut with some sweet grains/cereal, a bit of coffee and roasted malts. Flavor had much more roasted coffee and malt with the hazelnut coming out in the finish. auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - JUN 12, 2009
12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! Nice, even dry cocoa-nutella roast aroma. A bit ashy.
Pours with vigor, through a clear black-brown and a
rocky, foamy tall head in soft cream and coffee.
Flavor is a bit biting. The coffee is snappy and
candy-flavored. Styrofoam brings up the back in a
slightly infected patois. Not as creamy as I would
like. Ebbing thin, and throwing some harsh yeast,
charcoal, and burnt edges. The hazlenut doesn’t bring
up enough nuttiness, except for some soft sugars in
the middle. This is a bit weird and uneven, but
otherwise rather complex and flavorful. It gets a little artificial for me at times and I wish the coffee flavor was a little cleaner. But, there’s a lot going on here, it’s dry, and it’s kind of fun. bgburdman9 (861) - columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 5, 2009
Growler thanks to dmschefke. Hoped to share this with more people but just me and my roomate drank most of it. Poured pretty black with still a little carbonation to it. Aroma was very hazelnut creamy. Smells very sweet but the body does not show it at all. Never had a beer with this flavor profile before. A pretty good bitterness to this, maybe too much for the type of beer it is. Not very strong either so I was able to drink multiple glasses of this. lumberjack (178) - Michigan, USA - MAY 9, 2009
On tap at brewery...perfect stout appearance, black with a nice big tan billowy head. aroma is of fresh coffee beans. coffee is the dominant flavor, with some roast malt, nuts, and bittering hops also noticeable. excellent creamy palate, though this was served a bit too cold i thought.

Pours a thick pitch black with a thin tan head. Title is self explanatory with aroma of coffee and hazelnut obvious. Hints of vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt, and brown sugar pretty evident. Flavor is everything I was hoping for with a thick and creamy mouthfeel. This brew goes down all too easy. Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 1, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2009 Huge thanks to my sister Lori for shipping this growler down for all of us to enjoy. Pours very dark with modest mocha head. The full aroma has loads of hazelnut nuttiness dominating the nose with supporting notes of coffee and roastiness in the background. The taste is very nice. I get a flavor rush of roasty malts becoming hazelnut goodness. By midway the coffee comes through to join the solid hazelnut and abundance of roasty malts. It ends with malt roastiness and a hint of molasses. This thing was in the growler for a month and as a consequence I wasn’t expecting too much. But this held up perfectly and tasted great. kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 1, 2009
Growler courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a generally brown to black color with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasted and malty with notes of coffee, hazelnut, brown sugar, sweet cream, bready yeast. Flavor is roasted and malty with notes of vanilla, wood, smoke, coffee, toffee, ripe dark fruit, brown sugar, some hints of spice. Generally medium to full body with a pleasing roasted malt finish. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 28, 2009
Thanks IBrew2or3 for bringing a growler of this wonderful beer. Pours dark brown with a small dark head. Nose is like a coffee shop, with some sweet milk mixed in: Sweet with some roasted notes. Flavor is roasty with earthy malt, spice, some Nutella (hazelnut) pieces, and chocolatey goodness. Very good beer- balanced and an all-around easy drinking stout. gunhaver (1030) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2009
Growler, courtesy Ibrew2or3. Very interested in trying a beer from a brewery that’s just 15 minutes from Kuhnhenn. Black pour, thin head and lacing. Nose is lots of hazelnut and coffee, brown sugar, molasses, and some dry cocoa. Flavor is very creamy, with tons of hazelnut coffee, very rich, some chocolate, and tasty notes of lactose and caramel. Very balanced, very drinkable, nice silky mouthfeel that satisfies to no end. Love it.
