Can from Carrefour Beitou. Exp 02/17. Very attractive pour - hazy amber with very slowly settling dense white head. Nose is pleasantly fruity and just a bit hop forward with strawberry and flowers. Texture is really nicely tuned- great smooth but substantial mouthfeel. Flavor is excellent, mildly sweet toffee malt at the outset, quickly overtaken by clean citrus hop resins, and finishes with a memorable mild bitterness and lingering hop resin flavor. Wow - really good - my first pale ale from Japan, this is outstanding.

American Pale Ale? Alright then. I wouldnt have guessed by the flavour, although there is a razornably sharp grassiness somewhere there in the back, behind the fruits and the resin. Nice beer, certainly a great choice if you are in a supermarket in the Nagano Area. Colour is pale copper, well, AMBER. Aroma is fruits and resins, especially of a freshly cut Christmas tree. Palate is not as sticky, but still, with a decent medium body.

Decent pale ale. The aroma is a mix of bread, pine hops and citrus. Flavor is mostly the sabe as the aroma with the hop pine finish dominating.

Poured into a taster showing barely translucent amber, no head, and light filtration. The nose shows roasted corn and fried seafood. Two bottles in row, Im wondering is my batch off. The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Flavors of light tartness and not much else. Light malty finish and barely any bitterness.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2015 Re-rate: Tap at Tsuki To Taiyo. Very mild aromas of fruit. Body is a tad heavy with more fruit and very little hop character. Slight bitter finish. Well-balanced but fairly boring. Tap at CBM Jimbocho. Served in an English pint glass. Golden amber color with a nice off-white soapy head. Fruit forward aromas present. Apricot, peach, cantaloup with hints of citrus on the nose. Great malty balance and fruit flavors on the palate. Creamy mouthfeel with fruit basket flavors hanging on until the finish. Nice dry and fruity finish. Very well-balanced.
